1.
That sounds really nice to me... and if they go for under £400 I might keep my eyes open.
i`ve seen them 3 or 4 times for that price in my oppinion, they are worth a try, depending on that impression of the video above
 2. as a long time ago i was in search for youtube videos about the amazing fender tbp 1 preamp, which i bought later on, i found those french guys performing in this video with a big block, it may give you an idea of the bass you maybe want to start at 2:00 ^^
 3. Chevrolet from the Black Crowes playalong
 4. nice one:) but free your p and get rid of this badass bridge:D
 5.
First obvious difference was much higher tension
That has nothing to do with flatwound. As on rounds, just a matter of set and brand. Thomastik Infeld for instance have no high tension.
 6.
hey peoples, just wondering what the main difference is between the flat wound strings to the normal strings i you could give me some info that will be most appreciated dan
As for me a flatwound string is normal, i am wondering what you mean with normal If you mean the difference between flatwound and roundwound..just take a guess what the difference may be!? soundwise, in my oppinion the rounds seem to have more bite, more highs, more piano. Flatwounds played alone without a band, may sound boring as a first impression to you, but if you start playing in the context with your band for example, you will learn to love them, as you have a better assertiveness and punch. Like sound always is, just a question of taste. Give your ears some examples on youtube and you will get a good impression about the main difference for this file i used flats on a p, if you wanna listen for an impression http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4194859/lc%20vitjo.mp3

 11. Ah okay, how do you call it then, a "nit-picker"? As long as the compressor effects your original tone and this is the case even when it is not noticeable, i think the name effect is chosen well. Lets have a look for instance in audacity..under effects..ahh..a compressor, even wikipedia lists compressor as an effect.
 12.
Just got to say, I'm hoping this is a trolling exercise/joke... If so, bravo. If no, I don't even know where to begin...
13. Effects are just tools. If you need that screwdriver to tighten a screw, you will need a screwdriver. If you need a hammer instead , the screwdriver will not help that much. I only use bass-> cable-> amp after i have experimented much with compressors, maximizers, chorus, overdrive etc etc. for my personnel sound i just need my sunn amp, a precision and a good cable, As my sunn amp has a two channel tube compressor built in. in my eyes, a compressor ist the most useful effect, which you should start with. There is no right or wrong, just a left and right way. You choose, which way will lead you to your home.

 15. It sounds good. It is a very harmonic full sounding set of strings. I normally play 45-105 but with the Gallis that doesn`t matter that much.
 16. you should give Galli Rockstars a try , but they have a 40 at 100(RSB43). Fotr me one of the best sounding nickel plated rounds
 17.
I cant here in the UK. Ive not tried using a VPN but i would say most people here wont be able to view it.
Thank you very much, you may be so kind to use this link at youplayalong from marlowedk. it has a really bad compression, but therefor no restrictions due to copyrights. 18. Due to restrictions of WMG, you are not able to watch this in the USA( a friend of mine told me) and not in germany. Are you able to watch that video above in the UK?
 19. 1st take, so not 100 percent accurate, i also had some rendering/picture sound synchronization problems. so this is the best result i can get out of it. Before you ask, the sunglasses are not for sale^^ they belong to my wife
 20. I use a Tribal Planet double Gigbag. as they were years ago not available in germany i ordered them in UK. They are really great..and in your price range I have this one
 21. In the eighties a friend of mine brought these Pickups from the USA. The should be used in a vintage Precision Project i wanted to start..nearly 25 Years later i think, i will never start this project^^, as i was always in love with complete vintage Fender basses. So i never used them and they were kept in my drawer nearly 3 decades. As you can see, they have the 57 Pickup raised A-Polepieces, which you were never able to buy as a Replacement. those pickups were also used in the first JV basses, which are very sought after especially those with raised A-polepieces. Nowadays those pickups are only used in the better 57 RI American vintage basses. Your chance to get an old vintage raised A-Polepiece Pickup with authentic sound. Price including shipping in Europe is 120 GBP. If you have further Questions, do not hesitate to contact me. See also my feedback thread here on BC.

 23.
I too use Grolsch tops, always have. I bought some strap locks once but just prefer the ease of the red rubber ring. No modifications & away you go.
so do i, very easy, you can also get blue coloured ones, so there are not so eye-catching.
Can someone please explain how the Grolsch bottle seal holds your strap on?
