1. Is it your face or a faker
2. Thanks Mr Fist, I'm only in 10 minds about selling it
3. Bollocks, I could have afforded this by Wednesday. Guess I'll have to get a Custom Shop jazz now coz I'm not going to see one of these again Congrats on the sale Steve. Cheers, Karl.
4. Gone thank you. Please expect a GB Streamliner 600 to be up next week
5.
I cant stop looking at the P-Nuts..... Much better than cashews (thanks, im here all week)........ I just love them. I want one. Some barsteward needs to pick up my ss2 though
Sales patter needs work Markus Bump.
6. Thanks Barry, think I may put my GK MB500 up tomorrow night. Then I will need to budget a full day out I think, cos, er, I have to drive back so that's 6.5 hours (even if the M6 ISN'T in car park mode )
7.
An update! over a year on and my gear buyin days are still over, cab still sounds beautiful,I almost always use my GK 400 RB '89 vintage but if I fancy a real bit of nostalgia I use my first series Trace AH250(still the loudest 250 watts ever). The only very slight issue is the loose rubber foot, doesn't bother me and strangely its only one of them that ever comes loose. The cab has now done about 150 gigs and shows no signs of serious wear. The sound did get better and louder as the speakers played in. Try one.
Araldite is your friend
8. Thanks to everybody for their input, really appreciated. No big deal but I do just fancy trying something else. The Precision is still a little hit and miss in different venues although the jazz and the P/J sound fabulous every where. Love the TTE500. I had an EBS TD650 which was amazing, best amp I've ever had, but in a 3U rack it weighed almost 50lbs! Barry, I am very grateful that your shop is 3 hours and 10 minutes away from me. Yes, I've checked. I have had my eye on that 61 CS Closet Classic for a couple of weeks and GAS of all kinds was not helped by spotting the Carvin BX 700 which looks an amazing piece of kit for the money. Again thanks everybody. Gig money burning a hole will one day be the death of me
9. I seem to remember Alex did a piece on amps that work best with his cabs, but I can't find it. Can anybody remember where it was, or what amps he recommended with a Super 12? It's the time of the year for an amp change The GK has been with me FAR too long. Like the gear tart I am, I am looking longingly at Aguilar 500's. So fickle Well, I've never tried one (justification). Cheers for any help/links folks, ta, Karl.
10. This must be one of the earliest ones. They rarely come up now. Excellent passive basses. Fender Precision Special Deluxe Bass | Hull | Gumtree
11. You got a bleedin Tardis Si?
12. Steve, I guess this has probably gone by now, but what is the action like? Can't really tell from the photos and some have been know to be difficult to get very low. Cheers, Karl.
13.
Aye, NWB. I've sold a few items on there. Nice and quick. It cant compete with the marketplace on here though.
Not NWB Dunc, a Facebook group called something like North West Bass Gear for sale. I don't want to link it cos I got a bollocking from a Mod before.
14. Cheers Bunny, continuing research
15. Get one of the Fender vintage pups and change the pots on the Mex. Bit cheaper
16. No Mr Tom sir (pedant alert ) the FRETBOARD is rosewood. And it's sold. but thank you for the bump, hope you are ok. See, even a dog playing the piano wearing gloves has it's day
17. Karl, sorry fella but you are completely BONKERS These are great basses and although you will "feel" a difference with a "proper" US Precision, believe me, it isn't that much in my opinion. I sold one of the first series of Highway 1 for more than that. And it was worth every penny and I've regretted it since. If one of the Blonde/Maple boards ever comes up it will be mine!! GLWTS but I would really think twice. You have a great, well specced bass there already.

19. Following photo to help answer a question. It comes with the original deluxe gig bag. In the constant flux of my gear, this was a great idea at the time, but I've never really got on with it, hardly played it. I've not set it up because it's neck off alchemy. Plays well enough none the less. I've got Mel's old white P, the best I've ever played. I've got Tom's fabulous Sunset Orange jazz. I've got an excellent, passive, Sea Foam Green FSR P/J. Despite WANTING a Custom Shop, anything other than the 3 above is excess I don't NEED. And that McCartney Rick is haunting my dreams and I know I won't be able to play it Anyway, I babble! 20.
So are there any safeguards for buyers and sellers using these groups or is it simply like a glorified noticeboard which you use at your own risk?
Sold my last two basses on them with no trouble. Both sold quite quickly as well, for the money I wanted. My 2001 Sky Blue US jazz went on the North West one. My Sadowsky went to a guy from this manor, but he saw it first on the Bass Market UK f/b page and that's where negotiations started. Only changed to PM on here, at my request, when we got into bank details. I still think there is considerably less traffic on here than 12/15 months ago and I think that may be contributory to folk setting these F/B pages up.

22.
Photos of the actual cab would help.
+1 Added to that a 5 hour round trip and pushing £60 in fuel doesn't help. Bubble wrap, a bike box from Halford's and a Stanley knife are your sales friend (well, for the other 80% of the population anyway).
23. Don't know Mr Twit, but there are groups for north west, south east and national that I know of. Sold my last two basses on the NW one.
