  1. Where does a strap attach? Could be my eyesight but I can't see any strap buttons in the photos. GLWTS
  2. At the risk of this turning into a debate about Steinberger type bass ergonomics and not a For Sale thread, I've got the similar B2AV model with no mods of any sort and have the following observations. I find no problems with balance even with a nylon strap. With regards reaching the fingerboard down to the nut I don't find it a problem and I've had an operation on my left shoulder that limits my left arm movement. Perhaps the trick is to allow the strap at the neck end strap button to drape down vertically from your left shoulder and then it sits very naturally much like a 'normal' bass. Hope this reassures any potential buyers that mods aren't required if you don't want to do them. GLWTS!
  3. The Harley Benton's did have a phase where there was visible routing but I bought one a while afterwards where they had reverted to a concealed channel for the pickup wiring
  4. Is there anyone who uses Talkbass that could post a warning that a blue 6 string Moon bass has been stolen? Maybe a link to the ad here to see the photos for ID?. Might mop up other eyes and ears beyond Basschat to help catch the crooks if/when they try and sell it. I've not familiar with the site or I'd do it.
  5. @ymdtzx If someone spots this for sale would it be best if they sent you a PM? Have you made the police aware of the theft and if so would they help you recover it? Its quite a distinctive instrument, there aren't many Moon basses around, and there isn't a massive market for 6 string basses (well beyond my limited needs and capabilities). As mentioned above there is a chance someone on this forum might see it up for sale and I'd like to think the law might catch up with the crooks some time.
  6. Lovely instrument. If I had the money I'd be investigating a trip to the Netherlands. Before someone else asks how much does it weigh?
  7. I've got a U5 in this finish that I gig a lot. I can confirm no neck dive. Very distinctive colour with subtle classy binding, it looks great under lights too. GLTWS!
  8. Cheapest China made CV Squier on this forum. I think one more week on and then I'll withdraw it and thin another candidate from the herd.
  9. Ta Taa! It's currently on hold pending a meet up with a potential lucky new owner next week...
  10. What is the weight of this bass please?
  11. My bathroom scales (diff with/without bass in hand) say its about 10.5 lbs so no featherweight, but I'm quite slim build and I've never found it a problem for 2 hour gigs. String spacing is 19 mm.
  12. No, I bought it from a BCer called to "Out To Play Jazz" who I haven't noticed on here for quite a while
  13. Meant to say, similar KSD in this video, clearly visible 2:08: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ceQ0VypjS8
  14. Lotsa love bit I've already got one which is also going nowhere. GLWTS
  15. I bought this many years ago on this forum and have found, as many bassists here and elsewhere have noted, that China built models are not far short of a US/Japan Fender in terms of build quality and sound. The only shortcoming I've found is the chrome plating which tends to get a bit discoloured after a while. It comes with the original tort pick guard and a black/white/black one I've fitted which I think looks nicer. It also has four control plates: the original chrome one (if you want the mojo), a new chrome one, gold, and black. It currently sports the gold one but the black looks particularly good with the black pick guard. When replacing the control plate I also replaced the original knobs and the jack socket which had become a bit iffy. I look after my instruments well so Its in excellent condition with the only blemishes I can see being: slight headstock scratching (low ceiling!), some bridge dirt/discolouration (which might well clean off), and a few extremely small surface marks that don't show up in photos and you would only notice if you're looking for really closely. I'll ship it in a cheap but perfectly decent Harley Benton gig bag which is nearly new. I'd prefer collection or a meet up within a reasonable distance of Tunbridge Wells (or could meet central London near a mainline station like Charing Cross, London Bridge etc). Postage an option if buyer arranges courier and takes responsibility once consigned. Prefer UK sale as I don't enjoy the customs overhead post Brexit.
  16. This is my trusty KSD605 35 inch scale 5 string jazz type bass with an EBS preamp fitted by Bernie Goodfellow. It was my main gigging bass for a few years but I am moving to shorter scale basses now due to a slight problem with my left hand. Its in excellent condition with the only blemishes I can see being: slight headstock scratching, some bridge dirt/discolouration (which might well clean off), and a few fine surface scratches to the underside of the body that are only really visible in bright light. The EBS preamp is vastly superior to the stock preamp they were fitted with. Controls are volume, balance, treble, bass, and mid frequency boost/cut. It comes with a sturdy blue gig bag which is in good shape apart from some minor tears to the lining from where I left some strings protruding from the tuners.
