1. Holy crap! I'd do worse than you - i'd be going insane at anyone and everyone who would listen. A refund wouldnt be enough for a cockup of that magnitude IMO. I agree with the statements regarding getting a custom instrument. For me, theres a bit of excitement about having a bass that no one else owns. Can't wait for mine to arrive! If its all built by a decent luthier then you'll get a brilliant bass to your exact specs (even if those specs are based on a HH 'ray! - Mines is based on a 70s jazz...and a stingray) - Just remember that S+T have done a terrible job - which i would spread like a plague to everyone. Sucks that you've had to go through all this. Hope you get everything sorted one way or the other
2. This is a great pedal Ant - you'll love it.
3. Hah i like how this topic has decended! But on another note - I got a call from the guitarist last night (Since i'm in freaking london still...) - He'd spoken to the drummer (who let slip my fears hah) and wanted to confirm that he was dedicated. Just with problems at home (current flat mates a douche) he just was unhappy with everything. He has said that in a few weeks once he's moved out we'll be good to go. Happy ended huh? Apologies for anyone interested in the pedals Cheers for the help folks - you're all awesome!
4.
Ok... soo what cheap signal blenders are there?
I used a Barge Concepts VB-JR before - I've got built into a switching unit max at SFX built me - so could always go that route?
5. Yeahh thats what i'm thinking just now. Well that and try and get a rise against style project going. Might even swallow my fear and do lead vocals too. Already found a drummer if my current doesnt fancy. Would be nice if he did - we've played together for 10 years almost!
6. Thanks all. The problem is he's also the synth player too. So he does quite alot. So i think if he's not interested it'll be the "end". Good thing for basschatters is that my deep impact, moog stuff and controllers would be up for sale!
7.
Sounds really crappy. Isn't the girlfriend he's moved in with by any chance?!
Well he said no, but she said on friday "did you hear that we got a flat?" so id guess yes. Sadly.
8. Hey guys - i know this thread has been a million times but would be nice to get some personal advice. I've been playing in my current band for ages. But we only starting gigging about a year ago. The singer/guitarist/synth player said he wanted a change and he wasnt enjoying it etc. So we took a break in June, got a new singer and planned a different style. We've rijigged one song and its sounding decent and interesting. But now everytime we try and get something together (a simple practice) but now the guitarist is saying he can't afford practice because of his new flat. This is odd to me since he's paying sod all mortgage (compared to me) and i still made gigs/practice when i got my place. But it just seems he's not wanting to do this now.. His girlfriend is also causing issues - says she hates the band because we take him away from her (bunny boiler much?) so we're thinking shes finally got to him. If Foxdie's dead in the water i'd probs sell 90% of my stuff and do a less fx'y band Anyone got any thoughts?
9. Hey guys, Though I'd create this thread while I had a spare few moments. Decided to get a custom bass built and after much thought decided to stay local (to basschat and geographically!) and have got Rich (Ou7shined) to build me one. It's pretty much like my Lakland DJ4 but with different neck and LEDs. Also has a mix of stingray added for good measure!
10. I love the sound of this... 20k needed though? :0
11. What a douche. His voice is terrible.

13. Tom bought my Fender jazz. Met me whilst i was in the leeds area - good comms and nice guy. Also gave me directions to get fuel and how to find the road again!
14. Apologies for bumping this - has anyone used the combo jazz pups? I'm after a vintage sound on the neck and more musicman style on the bridge - also i want to split the coils on the MM one so i can treat it as a normal jazz (neck/bridge) Any thoughts?
15.
+1 for a lesser known hometown man! I still need to ask him how many strings he'd be willing to put on an instrument... But his stuff is great and his has great prices!
this interests me alot....
16. Rich in Aberdeen is a great guy. Ou7shined on here. Prices are good too and will do whatever you want! I'll be getting something built when my stingray sells!
