1. +1 for Max at SFX. The guy is a god among men when it comes to building fx units.
 2.
Wow stunning bass, have a bump for being a cat owner
Haha cheers mate - Though the pictures (and cat!) are shockwaves - I'll take the bump anyway
 3.
ooohhhh it's gaaawwwwjussssss sadly, no £900 here
Cheers mate

 5. Is it std Status spacing? What are the customisations?
 6. Okay - The trade offer fell through - So this is back for sale (£900) or trade (Something? I'm not a P bass man though - PM me? Pref 4 string I think..) Can confirm that the preamp issues i was having was a mixture of the battery and amp having too much gain. Brilliant sound though. Got my eye on something so please get in touch! Cheers guys.
 7. Hey folks, I've decided on my new fuzz pedal (I was looking for something that handled active basses better and a bit of a different sound) so this is now surplus to requirements. I'll take pictures when i'm home tomorrow evening. This is a brilliant fuzz pedal that most of you already know how it sounds. Chris Wolstenholme from Muse has used (uses?) this before. Gives a brilliant gated synthy fuzz sound. Link this with another fuzz pedal (the mastotron for example) and you have an amazing setup which gives a LOVELY fuzz tone. The mammoth gives a lush sound on its own - but i preferred running both at the same time. The mastotron maybe for sale too soon. I'm looking for what i paid for the pedal when i bought it - £150 - Postage will be 5 for the UK. Dave
 8. Hey guys - it was indeed the batteries had crapped out on me. Replacements just fitted and its now a monster. Still not sure about keeping it though! Thanks for all the advise!
 9.
Iron Ether Oxide?
Really like the sound of this. also looking at the team awesome fuzz machine. anyone used it?
 10. Hey guys, Sorry about this but i'm out of ideas... Looking for a fuzz to finally end my GAS issue! I'm needing a fuzz that plays well with the zvex mastatron (sp?) Currently with the mammoth which sounds good - but it hates active basses... Ive tried (in no order):- blowtorch, ashdown drive, several boss, muffs, rats and even a guvnor. I want something in the vein of chris wolstenholme (uprising for example). Ideally with a smallish footprint. So - my bass playing brothers and sisters- go nuts - what would you suggest? Dave
 11. Okay i've decided to provisionally trade this. so its on hold. ta
 12.
It'll be the battery. That's just what happens when the battery dies. Some boutique distortion pedals even have voltage controls on them so that you can make it sound like the battery is about to go flat.
I thought as much - got 2 9volters in my car so will throw them in. But i've decided to provisional trade it, maybe the jazz 5 just isint for me.
 13. Hey guys, I bought this off Basschats own Shockwave a few weeks back and as brilliant as the bass is, i just cant get my head to fall into using a 5 string again. So i'm looking to sell this for what i paid. I've asked Shockwave if he'd mind me using the pictures he took. This is the blurb that he wrote:- "Features the more favored 4/1 headstock, Montego Black/Gold Scratchplate combination with a lovely Maple neck. 34" Scale This bass has had the some what anemic original active electronics taken out and replaced with a John East J-retro Deluxe which gives you ultimate control over your bass. Features Active/passive switch, Bass, Treble, Extra bright push pull switch, Mid volume and Mid contour control, as well as a passive tone control! Maximum knobbage! http://east-uk.com/jretrodeluxe01.pdf Complementing the pre-amp is a set of Seymour Duncan Quarterpounders, lovely hot pickups with loads of grind that can be toned down to a nice full funk sound. All electronics have been FULLY shielded with copper tape. There is little to no background noise when the bass is plugged in. The bass has a lovely Low action which is happy to be adjusted. The Truss rod is working well 100%. There are playing marks on the body which are quite hard to show up under lights. You would have to look at it in the right light to see!" I would be looking for what I paid for this bass - £900. I'm based in Aberdeen. Not sure what i'd be looking for in a trade. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...l=Fender+deluxe is the original thread. Okay - defo up for sale/trade now
 14.
Cool, try that...i have 2 of the same pre amps and get no distortion at all.Try the battery and if it doesn't work ring or email John direct.
It appears to have 18v supply. That was a shock! Removing a battery kills the pre (natch) so tried with passive mode on - seems much cleaner - assume it was the batteries then... Still not getting around this bass though! Just tried quickly blasting one of my bands songs with it and its just strange just now. Hmm.
 15. That is really awesome.
 16.
Sssup with the East pre amp, what tone are you looking from it ?
It appears to be really wild - like i'm wanting a clean passive sound but i'm getting insane distortion - I've got a thread on here with people suggesting what may be the cause. I've got a battery sitting here waiting to go in but not had time and the bands not practicing atm.
I'm not going to bite at the "you only get 5 extra notes" comment as that thread has been done plenty of times before but have you tried any other 5ers woody? I can't get on with jazz 5's really which is a shame as I would like one similar to go with my Jazz 4.
I used to have a peavey 5 string and then a warwick corvette 5. I could get my head and hands around those no bother - but i used to have issues with 4 strings, then i started playing around with them more and started being a convert. It's just really frustrating because the jazz is a gorgeous bass and has such a nice feel to it - theres just something that causing me issues. Frustrating.
 17. Hey guys - Hope someone will be able to assist me. I recently bought Shockwaves Fender Jazz 5 string but i'm not sure i'm really getting back into the 5 string, still find myself drawn to 4 strings but i'm not sure if I should stick it out and keep trying or sell up and look at others. Theres a Shuker that i'm eyeing up on his page, which jon is willing to add a passive switch onto, but its abit more pricey. I also just cant seem to get the hang of the J-East Deluxe. What do people think? Dave
 18.
VERY VERY LOUD. It was just mush, but that may have been the venue as it's like that alot (Maiden were fine though!) Decent hard rocking Aussie style rock! All the songs sounded the same minus one which i really liked actually!
I was slightly further back for them - sound was decent there. Just thought they were a naff band. Bit too much like ACDC for my liking (whom I'm also not a fan of) Maiden were pretty awesome, the older stuff was much better than the newer stuff i thought. Was in stitches at Bruce getting distacted mid song by the girl flashing ("Did you just flash your T!ts? You did didnt you? They were very nice") The amount of faded band tshirts and denim was shocking! Oh and white dunlop trainers..
 19.
Haha will do Dave! Where do you work? (just out of interest! haha) I'm going Maiden spotting today in like an hour as i've dreamt of even just getting a photo of them for like 4/5 years and i don't think i'll take a camera tonight so i can get up to the front! (Need to see Steve Harris up on the moniter!)
I'm a Desktop and Server Engineer currently outsourced to a company in Union Plaza. Might go for a wander too and see if they're kicking about.. Though i'm sure they'll just look like someones metal dad doing the shopping.
 20.
Only 11 hours now! So excited i barely slept so planning a nap before the show!
I'll probs get excited for the gig just before it. Got to work (with concussion too >.<) before hand! Incidently if you see someone with Purple-ish hair and a white rage tshirt come say hi

 22.
Whats the sfx pedal?
Custom built blender/switcher. Its got 2 loops which has got got fuzz in one and synth in the other. Lets me swap channels with 1 tap. also its got a pedal so i can scroll down on the deep impact.
