I dropped them an email. Says the current one does not fit many bass necks, just the slim guitar neck profile, however they say it 'may' fit certain 4 stringers. As for making others for other basses, eg. 5 or 6 strings... They say they would love to, but not until they have established a business with the guitar version, which could obviously take some time!

I quite like the idea for busy gigs. Keep the bass attached to a heavy bass rig. Sure it can be defeated but its a goo d deterrent for the opportunist thief in a venue. Shame it doesn't fit a bass… let a lone my 6 string neck!

I would hope we can pull in more than 9 and a half people and hence bring the price down. Why not start a list on the opening post. If we say Nov 20th as a provisional date, and start a list of those people that would come and be happy to pay in advance. Run the list until the weekend, see how many people have commute and then of we have say 15 people happy to pay in advance we can all paypal you £5 each and book it... Then if you only get 3 names we can prob write it off. Sound good? Put me on the list to get it started...

Been playing on a friends Warwick Corvette 4 this afternoon, and while I hate most things about the feel of the actual bass, I realised that slap playing soooo much easier on a 4 string!! I don't really use slap in the stuff I do musically, but love playing around with it at home. Anyone fancy parting with a 4 string Spitfire nice & cheap for me to mess around on?

Then lacquered. Kinda hard to explain the staining but hopefully I'll have a pic within a week which will explain better...

I guess because you don't see them in stores etc anywhere in the world. The only way to pic one up and try it is to make a specific journey to Brighton or find someone that already has one. I think if you out a GB in the hands of more people then more people would use them, but being a small company, and one that doesn't really advertise all that much or throw basses at pro musicians that's just not going to happen in a hurry.

Another update from Mr Goodfellow. Bass strung up and apparently plays amazingly! (looks much lighter than last pics due to them being treated with Meths to emulate the lacquered look. This is how it looks 'dry') Headstock facings to be added on Monday, then colour staining, then off to be sprayed on Thursday. Will be set up with Bernies Pickups an Pre, GB Metronome & Tuner and all black hardware (silver bridge in pic is just for the setup).
