Yeah man, makes a change from the usual 3+3 for 6ers. Really happy with the finish. Think I really have the right pair of basses. I know my fretless is going to get played less and less and they Ibanez Ashula is going to end up loked away for the future... Shep

Cool Blog Dan, very informative… Here is a short sample from our Jam on Saturday, using the effect setup I currently have. This is all done on the strings with my effects pedals, no loops, sequencers or samples and no midi… It is missing a lot of bass from the recording, but was just a DI from the amp and its lost quite a bit (Drums sound rough too, this is done with just an overhead mic and was all improv')… Just an idea of the textures we are creating… I aim to re-record this soon but will mic up the cab for a fuller sound… [attachment=63417:08_NEW_TRACK_EDIT.mp3]

Octave down and chorus is a great start. Add fuzz for the synth sound. Bit of delay or reverb for atmospherics. That will do to get you started. Low pass filter is effectively a system that cuts the too frequencies, mixed with an envelope filter for a wah esque sounds... Effectively let's you do deep sub sweeps like a classic synth. Start with octave down... ... Then it'll all go wrong from there! There is so much you can achieve (I unleashed my sound on Phil.I.Stein the other day... As him!) but it's easy to get carried away!

Officiall word from Robbie... The bass is FINISHED! 1 week short of 6 months and we have the following masterpiece... Set up and looking amazing... I am one happy man...

I'm trying to not buy gear at all... Just enjoy what I have. If I sell anything, than money will be better spent elsewhere away from bass gear. I am going to aim to no trade anything either... Live with and love what I have, or sell it and use the money wisely!

Well my last weekend of blowing far too much money on gear is drawing to an end. I still really need an LS-2 so reserve the right to buy one this week I if don't hear back from potential sellers tonight (I have at least enquired about the LS-2 his weekend). Everything else I had my eye on to complete my pedal set up I have either irresponsibly purchased, or dropped the idea. I should even have some stuff to sell to recoup some spend (My fancy light up Monkey Dream Pedalboard, Groove Regulator and maybe a few other bits too...)... As suggested I have put this in my sig and will keep tally as the days go by! Wish me luck...

Gramma Pad is amazing. Has done wonders for my D&B sound. As for venues... The Old Angel in Nottingham. I challenge ANY band to sound good in there. I blame playing too many gigs there for failing of my music career lol
