FWIW I have a dvd of Stan Clarke live at Montreux in about '77 and he plays his CT a lot on it.[/quote] Hi It may well have been the same Bass, i remember it sounded rubbish and had the worst set of strings on it i have ever touched, but i had an Alembic Stanley Clark model at the time and discussed with Rob Green (STATUS) how it could be improved, and Rob ingeniously concealed Status active circuitry under the original pick up and set up, enhanced it with Chrome effect scratch plate and Ron Baker at Rotasound made piccolo strings specially for it, and its the most amazing Bass on the planet. A thousand quid was two months wages then!!! Anyway heres your chance mate to actually own it, as i have said i was probably a bit optimistic in the current financial climate, and i am willing to do a deal, possibly a part ex , i am looking for a Gibson Les Paul, so that and some cash. I would love to see that DVD you have, can it be purchased? Thanks Harveyn

Good day guys In addition to my Carl thompson piccolo, i have a Framus fretless semi acoustic (les paul shape), circa 1965 (i forgot i had it) in good condition, just wondered if anyone had any idea on its worth? Carl thompson still for sale(after now having had three dreamers let me down!)I had a deal with one and in the end daddy would not provide the funds...................great! Anyway i still want to sell, and maybe i have been a little optimistic on price, so if a significant price reduction brings more properly interested people into the fold, i will be more than happy to discuss. I did have trouble loading the pictures, and had to go through photobucket in the end. Anyway it has certainly generated some interest very quickly, and if you are interested anyone out there let me know and we can talk money and i will take a part ex. My god all i want to do is sell a bass!?

I would have no idea what your JAYDEE is worth, but thanks for asking my advise, my experience in life is that anything is worth around about what someone is willing to pay! If you are referring to the way they are first supplied i agree, thats why i had to get Rob Green to put Status active circuitry in it and now its amazing! Good one about the string, i bust it the other day, just waiting for some replacements. But it would be cheaper for me to just put some new strings on it than the 25% discount Harveyn

Indeed i saw Stan in an interview thanking Alembic for the supply of these basses, and i know he bought a lot of the early ones. But hey what the hell neither of us have any way of verifying this and it would be pointless anyway, i was only emphasising Stan liked these basses enough to buy them and play them. The original CT strings it came with were rubbish. The original circuitry (whilst the instrument was beautiful to play) was very dull, i dont think Carls strong point was in the electronics area, or if it was i dont understand why he put this stuff in the guitar? Yes the circuitry is status bass active circuitry, and installed by Rob Green himself There was no additional cuttings made in the bass the circuitry fitted in the original hole,in addition to keep the aesthetics of the bass the GMT pick up is concealed in the housing of the original pick up. He is a clever lad that Rob Green, and he made a fabulous professional job of it. The scratch plate is a matter of taste and can be removed, and if that hits the price a little then so be it, i personally think it adds to the individuality of the bass! Its great that this bass has generated such amazing interest Harveyn

GREAT THOUGH HE IS (Do you all want to sound like Anthony Jackson)? Indeed i believe its the only Bass that actually can carry of sustain and distortion units and enhance its qualities. I have played anything from BLACK SABATH,SYMTOM OF THE UNIVERSE ETC to School Days to Goodbye pork pie hat as a lead instrument the piccolo range allows this! The tonal quality of this instrument is amazing and you just dont want to put it down! The GMT active circuitry assists this bass admirably. Any Bass player would want this to compliment his collection, and indeed would probably wind up playing this most. If you can pick one of these up (if you can actually even find one) for 4k you have done very well! Go to CT website Les claypool model fetched over 5000 dollars and that is not half the guitar this one is. I believe also that Alembic Give Stanley his Basses, but CT has always insisted that the stars purchase, which indeed stanley did (guitar player magazine interview some years ago).
