I had one years ago and if I recall correctly 'down' is the ON position. Correctl me if I'm wrong but it adds about 5-6db of super highs. You only really notice it when you roll the treble up to max. Try maxing Treble and adding a little bass and removing some mid (Is there a 3 band or a 2 band on these, I forget?)... start with the switch in the up position and pop a few notes... then flick the switch down and pop a few more. There should be a noticable 'zing' to the sound in the down position... If its wired up correctly that is... Shep

Ha. No worries... It is a tad odd... But good fun.
Bonus points for "things that are awesome and I want, but I could never justify" go to Dave's bass synth and Shep's Ibanez fretted/fretless thingy.
If you want to give the fretted/fretless thingy a proper try your more than welcome bud... Shep

Picked up some George L plugs from Bassmat. Exactly as described, quick postage and great communication. Very happy Shep
My praise has to go to the W&T Klimt that McGraham brought along with his tickling his strings technique.
Great isn't it... Marks technique has [s]entertained[/s] amazed me since I first met him. Great player. Great style. [s]I hate you Mark.[/s]

Ibanez SR201ASC Ashula. Limited Edition, amazing bit of engineering. Seems odd, but give it a week and you'll realise its bloody brill. A few places have 1 left online and when they are gone they are gone. Selling at £722 when I checked last. Sound amazing. Look great. Loads of options as your playing style evolves and being they are not made now and are quite swish should hold its value well for the future.

I used to be a Markbass user. The only reason I moved was that I found the markbass high-mids and top end to be very harsh sounding… emphasising slight mis-frets and a nasty harsh click when playing slap. Lovely low mid and bottom end, but the top just lacked a nice tone. i moved to EBS and have not regretted it. I do miss the lightness of the amp heads and the nice yellow colours, but tonally for me, they are just lacking where it matters.

Nottingham Bass Bash was a bad idea....

Sorry to hear that Geoff. My condolences... There will be many more Bass Bash's to come I'm sure, so plenty of chances to catch up Shep

Oakbears Ritter needs a heads up too for being the ugliest… yet one of the most desirable instruments there… I'm not sure how beauty comes from oddness but that bass seems to achieve it so damn well!

MXR Blowtorch is one to try as the EQ section lets you get it nice and smooth. I am also a big fan of the Tech 21 XXL Bass Edition. Goes nicely from Overdrive to Fuzz with nice sustain...

Was a fun day, nice to meet plenty of like-minded people. Barefaced was certainly a pleasant surprise. Mikes Sei also struck a note with me (as well as his hair )... A few pics I took - Apologies they were taken on a poor iPhone cam in a badly lit room, but figured I should post them anyway - Actually the pics are REALLY bad Shep

Cheers dude. All the george L's form 'runs' cable tied together at points around the board so they follow set paths and spike off as they pass the pedal they connect to. Even the coloured cables that run totnhw MP-201 I had made to the right size and have fastened them into a neat mini-loom. Power is still a little messy but will be just as tidy within the week -
I have a Fretless Roscoe 6... No worries there. No ACG gas in this camp. I have the GB Spitfire being delivered soon and have been considering exchanging my 'spare cab' for an alternative... But no more buying. This is going to be hard, and I keep seeing cool stuff, but other than maybe changing my EBS Neo115 for something else I'm really going to stick to this. I have even pulled out of buying a Neo112 from Bernie along with my Spitfire as I consider it unnessarcary at the mo... And I'd agreed to that before I started this! Go me

Spoke to Bernie today. Bass coming back from the spray shop first thing next week all being well then assembly!

Just about at the end of my cable tidying process. Everything changed over except for 1 cable (left the last pair of George L's on the side at home… sods law). As of tomorrow it will be all neat an tidy… Power set-up is getting there as well… A tidy board is a productive board! -

SOLD Hi guys, Looking to trade or sell my amazing EBS Neo 115. Stunning cab that defy the classic '15's are all low end'. This was demo'd to me by Bernie Goodfellow and the slap sound was mind blowing. Couldn't believe this was a 15. Huge amount of top end with a great tweeter and more bottom than you know what to do with… These really do sound like the best out there (IMHO). Only reason I am moving it on is that I am using the 212 more with its 600w power rating to give me more headroom with very powerful ams and I'd like another to match it to keep at another location... Perfect condition and hardly used... Pictured here so you can see its size next to a small combo and a bass - And here on the bottom- Powerful at 300w into 4ohm and surprisingly light. Cab located in Nottingham City Centre Up for sale at a VERY reasonable £300 collected. Happy for you to arrange a courier for collection at your own risks with shipping of heavy item... Trade/PX options - Happy to add cash.... EBS cabs (410, 212, 112, 110) Pro combo (Markbass, Tecamp, EBS -Would love a Drome, etc) May consider other 212 cabs or a pair of 110's
