1. It one of those last chance to vote type bumps, It's neck and neck out front it just needs a few more votes to settle it, so dive in
2. A driver on my brothers old round was Robin Basted
3.
As for night work - not good for depression. I know its better paid but its isolating and messes with your body chemistry - and your gigging.
This , some people can take to it easily , but some just can't , I can't, I tried it for some contract work , never again. Best wishes big yin ,
4. top gig , well done
5.
To the benefit of us all..!
I am still chuckling at that .
6. I seriously try to have fun The trouble I have is the more I try to get my output sounding like a true pro arrangement , the more I realise I know so little on how to do it , so I have the craic and publish
7. Congratulations and best wishes
8.
I watched them and was struck at how many basses he used, all of which to me sounded the same. I think it must have been on his bucket list to do more instrument changes than The Edge.
Maybe they were tuned up and strung differently so he could mix it up a bit , though they did all sound a bit samey to me as well
9. I'm sure one of the basses was strung with the lowest 2 as bass strings and the top 2 skinny strings , wacking out a deep root and riffing over the top of it . Very much agree that 5 songs in it got a bit samey , but really enjoyed them all the same , killer duo
10. It's hard to criticise a guy who is on his own wacking a guitar, dancing on a looper or 2 , and has 100,000 people singing along to every word. Very impressive. Ed to add , maybe his E string drops out of tune a bit easy
11. well boys you all certainly know how to put some incredible stuff together , truly brilliant , voted but had to go through twice
12. We did a proper posh wedding tonight , scheduled tightly , shortish sets, song choices by the couple , even the running order , the DJ was great and even lit us up , the MC was on the ball and took her job seriously and the happy couple loved it !! They even said they would come to the next pub gig just so they could sit and listen to the whole set that we do rather than be mingling with the guests The bride hadn't seen us as we were a late stand in , but the husband had phoned his wife at our last pub gig and she listened over he phone to our first three songs , odd way to get a pucka wedding gig, but it worked out a treat for all !!
13. I honestly never got got the band 'fanboy' thing , if the music speaks to me , I'll vote with my wallet , if it doesn't , I'll let it go . It is so much easier to try before you buy nowadays that you really don't have to convince yourself that you love the band because you spent £12.99 on an album
14.
Yew are too kind, sirs.
SsssssssmOAKing dude, on another plane
15. The scarlet takes a standard guitar lead , no need for anything special to plug your bass in with
16. We played to the '4 blokes and dog' crowd , we played well enough to get re-booked but there were a couple of right clangers that we'll need to address . Best part of the night was when the the 4 blokes were chasing the dog around the pub , apparently the cue ball fell off the pool table and the dog took it , priceless
17. Ooooh on hold , me thinks I've traded it for some rehearsal room time .... so I might get to use it for free for a few weeks .... ??
18. Bump it up ............................. To knock it down £150 , fill your boots
19. Cheers Dad, I reckoned you would get it
20. I'm in, this one was great fun but probably a bit daft even for me I offer you .... https://soundcloud.com/lurksalot/dustsheets I hope you can get through it, its a bit long for me
21. I had to wait to a fortnight for strings marked as in stock , and really poor comms , I don't mind a wait if someone tells me to expect it , but a message costs next to bugger all and saves a lot of frustration
22.
Note to self: Must read before posting! I meant sound absorbing thingummies dangling from the ceiling! I've left the committee to it for the moment... They seem to think that monitors aren't necessary (!), but I did convince them of the need for mics... The problem is they've spent more than £10k on a ridiculous electric screen that can divide the hall, but no-one is allowed to use it in case it gets broken. You couldn't make it up!
Maybe but do you remember the metalwork shop with Mr Bruce , he had a brand new top dollar milling machine that only the A-level students could use ...... they never ever offered A-level in his subjects , it probably just rusted itself solid , same meat different gravy
23. Radar love as it's all over a new film coming out and has always been a classic , oh and war pigs as lead guitar fancies w***ing all over it
24. Sellers who withdraw their item after you offer the asking price , like " sh*t , someone wants this as much as I do, so I won't sell it now "
