  1. I have no ‘ilok’ just the manager program that holds the authority , I can’t move the license between computers
  2. Waves are working , but I had to pay for some sort of upgrade FFS izotope ozone 8, I use that but can’t move the license to the new computer from the ilok account. i can’t find where the download was from and £129 is more than I want to pay for another FFS time for a break
  3. Power shell issue resolved , in theory , the license stuff might be transferable now at least , though EZdrummer doesn’t work !
  4. It’s new computer (PC) time , I’ve bought one and I’ve started , slowly, transferring files and folders, no probs. I’m off work for a week after a hernia op , so I don’t have to panic i can’t pick up the guitars for a bit, so this months composition will wait a week while I set up the computer the fun is with programs , ‘apps’ and plug ins. i will pay for a new reaper , sorted. Wave's, raptor and ilok might cause issues as I can’t open the license programs , currently telling me that power shell is not working. this part of the process fills me with dread. i can’t get the computers to talk to each other over the network so it’s transfer via a storage device . any expert advice will really lower my anxiety on this stuff 😁 TIA

  8. @AndyTravis on hot form again, with a great tune, and taking the honours for June . His choice for the picture is a cracker...... "Seems only right… At this stage, surely anyone can run a country? Why not a 30ft pigeon?" Simple rules ✔️ Entries must be <5 minutes and recorded between now and the deadline. ✖️ No illegal samples, copyright infringements or other snide goings-on ✖️ No Bagpipes/panpipes as the photo is from London, though it might be a Scottish pigeon, so if they are very low in the mix, it might slide. ✖️ No voting for your own entry. We'll know. And we'll shame you.. Deadline-wise, we will go for Midnight on the 24th (effectively Tea time on the 25th I guess) A line or two of blurb as usual for the vote thread will be super smashing. Good luck, Have fun
  9. some of us still work you know Mrs Lurks is making dinner aswell , so I'm on it , but I may have a dinner break
  10. Well done Andy, great stuff , I’ll put the July challenge up this evening
  11. I’m gutted bud. i was set to bring the lads down, but we have been promised on a family gathering on the south coast. Hope you have a good one and I’ll catch you again.
  12. After another close run vote @xgsjx got the win with a great piece for the May challenge. So the Inspiration for the month of June came in the form of his own photo as he explains below.. "I took it from the necropolis in Glasgow a couple of months back. I think it’s a good mix of lots going on as well as being quite tranquil." And a fine set of entries thus followed. Please vote for your favourite 3 entries and Voting will close at midnight on 30th June 1 @Dad3353 The City awakes from its torpor, seemingly unaware or the approaching menace. Just across the horizon, gathering pace, intent on who knows what unspeakable havoc and destruction. Where is It from..? Why now..? What to do to ward off the inevitable..? Once Seen, It can never be Unseen. The City awakes... 2 @xgsjx The city is calling me deep into it. A city of beautiful places & faces, I'm always thinking of you. 3 @Leonard Smalls Two Jakeys sitting on a bench in the cemetery sharing a bottle of Bucky, one lights up a fat one... 4 Lurksalot The last time I went to Glasgow I took the train. It was on a weekend away with a bunch of lads from the Round Table. We had a great night out and gathered for breakfast in the morning. The TV's all around the hotel reception and bars were all showing the latest BBC news which was a derailment on the west coast mainline. After a couple of minutes, it became clear that we were on the previous train through Grayrigg and could easily have been in the mangled wreckage of the incident. Very sobering at the time, and then again, when it was the replacement bus service from Carlisle to Preston on the way back. 5 @upside downer Is the city just waking up to face the rigours of the day or is the night approaching with all its alluring features? It matters not; everyday, the good folk of the city are making life-changing decisions, for better or worse. 6 @AndyTravis Just managed it… Okey Dokey there we have it , a fine selection of original tracks which I know I will find awkward to split, production seems up a notch as well this month , fair play to you. Please vote for your favourite 3 Voting will close at Midnight on 30th june Good luck all
  13. I’ll be home shortly , I’ll get the vote thread done before the footy
  14. OK Ive got it done as best as I have got time for . The last time I went to Glasgow I took the train. It was on a weekend away with a bunch of lads from the Round Table. We had a great night out and gathered for breakfast in the morning. The TV's all around the hotel reception and bars were all showing the latest BBC news which was a derailment on the west coast mainline. Very sobering at the time, and then again, when it was the replacement bus service from Carlisle to Preston on the way back. A tale like this deserves a folky approach... and probably a far better effort than this, and better story telling aswell, but that is the fleshing out of the tale that is skimmed over in the lament. Yamaha acoustic guitar, a bit of EZ drumming percussion, a small pinch of MIDI fiddle , and about a 100 vocal takes spliced down into a couple of minutes worth of usable lines. mixed in Reaper with a smothering of Ozone 8
  15. I’m just about there with mine , it’s very simple / minimal which means of course, that it’s taken me all month to learn it, so that I can actually play it! of course the kicker is that I do need words on it , that will take me all weekend doing vocal takes and fiddling with auto tune. ah well , the sun is shining , so I can look at it through the window I guess 😁
  16. Here we go , dive in and fill yer boots
  17. After another close run vote @xgsjx clinches the win with a great piece for the May challenge. Inspiration for the month of June comes in the form of his own photo as he explains below.. 18. Well done Graeme , that really fitted the theme and was ace . if you send your choice of pic to me, I’ll put the thread up .
  19. move the decimal point 1 place to the left then double it 😁. these guys are all bachelors , it’s not because they never married (my uncle John was a priest and did the wedding of one of them) so they must be well educated !
  20. A close run campaign for the April certificate was only split by a single vote, enabling @AndyTravis to receive another presentation by @Dad3353 for the prize. Early off the mark Andy sent me the following image ... "There we go - spaced out, ejected etc " The following have been lovingly crafted for your listening delights. Choose your Favourite 3 entries before the vote closes at midnight on 31st May 1 Lurksalot a spacey kind of soundscape 2 @AndyTravis Just struck me that it’s a May composition, the first lyric the singer put to it started with “Home Again” so I thought of the man ejected into space wanting to be home again… 3 @Jean-Luc Pickguard Here's Event Horizon, where I aimed for a 70s Krautrock feel. It is is about looking into, and being pulled over the Event Horizon of a black hole which might actually be a wormhole into a parallel universe. 4 @Leonard Smalls A chaotic riposte to James Blood Ulmer's "Jazz is the Teacher, Funk is the Preacher"; this is The Creature! 5 @fingers211 Following the old 'Catchphrase' mantra, I've sung what I've seen !! 6 @xgsjx Okay, I'm in this month! 7 @upside downer Flying craft and missiles are the order of the day for mankind yet again as we find ourselves fighting on the edges of space and time. When will we ever learn? Hopefully, I've tapped into a vague Hawkwind vibe both lyrically and musically which, in my book, can only be a good thing. Okey Dokey , that's them all , enjoy your listen and pick out your favourite 3 pieces. Voting will close at midnight on the 31st .
  21. Ian Prowse at Alexander’s in chester , jeez what a show, performer , poet, songsmith. with a fiddle and a flautist/penny whistler to accompany, the guy just tells stories from the heart. Mersey centric but honest and open to the core, love the guy ❤️❤️
  22. Many moons ago , we strike up ‘I predict a riot’ just as it kicks off at the bar. The following scene was straight out of a Benny Hill show chase. one lad runs past us to the front door and disappears, eagerly followed by 6 blokes followed by their girlfriends. they then come back to find the troublemaker had come in through the back door , so they chased him back out of it, but followed him all the way round and back in the front door. All to said tune , surreal, yet very funny as we were pretty much ignored during the procession
  23. On a similar vibe , if you take the dep, he could have a good go at the bar tab by himself by the look of it 😁.
