A Fender MIJ/CIJ 75 RI sounded just like a MM Jazz to me (well mine did anyways). Although the bass in the clip does sound like a P Bass. But it depends how the OP was EQing the bass.

Oh please. Read the previous comments. We all know a jazz bass isnt just for jazz.

I dont think i said a Jazz bass was just for Jazz.

I owned a 75 RI with flats on. Didnt make much sense to me. A Jazz was designed for a specific tonal reason.

The whole point of a Jazz is to sound like a Jazz. You can't get that classic high end sizzle growl Jazz tone with flats.. IMO...If my dog meowed I would have a serious issue. Each there own. Of course I'm joking, anyone can put different string on any bass if that's your bag. Its the music that matters.

What an absolute cracker of a weekend. The Brand New Heavies, Incognito and the major surprise was a band called the MF Robots.They were absolutely incredible. If you like JazzFunky type stuff they are a MUST.!! Bumped into Bluey who was watching them. And met Andrew Levy who's playing is always good. . Goldie Looking Chain were a huge suprise. What a funky HH act they are.

Well its only one bass but its the most beautiful wood ive ever seen.

I have the privilege to play with some just amazing musicians. We need a name. I put in all the hard work, As in getting the musicians together. The band has asked what shall we call our selves. I ask because I know there are some creative people on BC. The first name put forward was PUSH. I ask for your creativity. The music is soul funk jazz. Need something clever.?
