  1. Hmm. Im not sure I want to know the name of this bass.
  2. Yes the FaceBook one. So someone posted about Rickenbacker basses and what people didn't like about them. Got Deleted. People asked what the problem was. I couldn't see a problem discussing it. Just like I wouldn't care if people discussed what they didn't like about any other bass. I posted and asked what the problem was. Was deleted from the group. Not going to loose any sleep over it. But I've got to say the guy who admins it is a proper clown.
  3. What a bargain James. Love those Glock preamps.
  4. Its ok to have a nod to Marvin. Its still relevant.? We should know in the UK. It was more about the musical content than the lyrical content for me. 9.20 check his voice out. OMG that is proper gospel power.!
  5. Slick stuff from Cory and his band. B Slade with the amazing laid back Sharay on bass. He reminds me of KRS1
  6. Wasn't sure what title to put but i'll explain. I have a Sei Jazz bass. East preamp. Its super punchy finger style through all strings. Flawless. I don't slap a huge amount but I do when I feel a song needs a little. Here is the issue. When I thumb no problem but the pop on the D and G string are getting lost in the mix. They are literally inaudible. Ive tried this through a 210 GenzBenz with the Shuttle amp. Also through some high end headphones, so I know its not a volume problem.. maybe.? Now I have a new pair of Bartolini B Axis Jazz pickups in the bass. Ive set them properly so the treble end is closer. The Bartolini's I had before had the same issue. I have a Lakland 44-60 passive and this instrument has no problems at all. The weird thing is even when I turn the preamp off ( set to passive). It still has the same issue so its not like im EQ'ing it wrong... Still no volume on the pop of the D and G string. Ive got to say I'm a little confused. All I can think of is set the pickups even closer to the G string. Maybe need to set those strings a little higher,(there not super low) as maybe the action is choking the notes.??? Thanks for any info girls/guys.
  7. Looks like ash to me.
  8. Why is it self indulgent.?? I don't get it. So a professional bass player like Scott is just plays like this to serve his own ego.?
  9. The only reason I bought Alder was it as slightly lighter than the Ash.. They were both too heavy mind.
  10. We/some/most of us have heard it. Didn't know he played it on his Jazz bass. Although we only hear clips of his playing lets not forget how much of a beast of a player he is.. Fantastic drumming and keys.
  11. This should have been the attitude many many years ago..
  12. Just spotted this. New and old bass day. The Lakland neck just feels tiny. You may have noticed its missing some knobs. Bought it like that and in the post. And there is no way I'm paying £200 for a scratch plate. Think I have a black Jazz plate somewhere.
  13. I see this thread resonates with all of us.!! 😂
  14. Good luck with that risky strategy.
  15. I would never take my wife to Cash Converters.
  16. I wouldn't take it too seriously Paul. And skint is not literal. Its not really serious and for sure tongue and cheek. Im not getting a divorce over a bit of wood and metal..
  17. I could bury it for a while.
  18. She's mentioned selling it.. But Im not going to fall for her mind game sorcery. think i will hide it again. But better. I could even bury it for a while.
  19. Too late. I had to go with the "It was the best bargain I've ever seen on BassChat angle.. Which was true to an extent. She said she wasn't angry but disappointed I hid something from her. Which is worse in my experienced disappointed book. The anger is short and sharp, the disappointment drags on.
  20. So i bought a Lakland Jazz. Shouldn't have done really because im a little skint now. Put it in my case. Then the wife has just found it. Ive yet to go home explain it all away. Doh.
  21. Robbie Williams. Cant say it suprised me. There not totally stupid.
  22. Fantastic jazz basses. The best in the business.
