4. i would put a wide gap between some of his opinions and his playing... you cant deny his playing... really enjoyed those.. thanks Bilbo
5. Im aware of my stupid question, but im after a dark tortoise shell pickguard.. ive seen very bright red guards, or a darker guards as seen on this beauty... this is what im after.. also im aware that some pickguards have different hole positions.. i want one for an MIJ 75, just like the one in the pic... i think maybe im taking my chances when i order one....
6. unless you want a project, it seems like a huge hassle.. first off, im not sure how the tension of 5 strings would affect a four string jazz neck.. the spacing would be very very tight by the nut... replacing the nut... changing the bridge.... also changing the 4 string pickups... drilling for another tuner... i really cant see it being worth while.... or working...
7. My lord, that is just superb!!!!!
8. total class...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYV0lVUe03o http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-UTzL1ZnaGg

11.
I have one. I think no dots on the fretboard is a plus! There are dots on the side of the neck so you can tell what you're playing. I have changed the pickups to bartolinis, and I also changed the bridge to a Babicz but the bridge swap hasn't really changed anything really. Other than that, great bass, super light and comfortable neck.
Bartolini..Babicz... Jazz PJ.. thats got to sound great..
12. the jazz bass... the KING of basses...

20. to be honest the Bad Ass II i prefer the look of on a jazz but i really dont like the fact that you have file your own string slots.. the Bad Ass III is better, but only three drill holes... dooohh
21. not sure whether those Babicz look too modern on a Jazz though
22.
I put a Gotoh on mine, think that's how you spell it, went straight on no messing
John do you have a model number?
23.
Just out of interest, why do you want to replace the bridge?
in the past ive banged on that high mass bridges dont make that much difference, or was it string through, i cant remember? but i played a jazz the other week with a BA on it, and across the neck the tone was more consistent..
24. I would like to change the bridge on my 75 RI jazz... ive never done this before... BUT... i dont really want to drill more holes... the bass has the usual Fender bent piece metal on it.... can you recommend a bridge that will use the existing holes..? Just spotted these.. im getting GAS for a bridge...
25. If ive ever had problems with a floppy B string ive used Hex Core strings...DR Low Riders are excellent... i tend to buy just the B string Low Rider, then buy a four string set of similar tonal qualities, that are round core.. Low riders do tend to be very stiff, not something im keen on from E to G... but there killer on a B string DR Low Rider's also have a fantastic tone, lots of definition..
