1. WOW that is stunning. have a bump.
2.
I think you could save yourself a lot of trouble by purchasing a bass with a high gloss burst finish. There are a lot out there. Blue
erm.. thanks, I'm aware of all the sunburst basses out there. and i don't mind the trouble, thats why I'm asking.
3. Maybe looking to get a natural bass refinished in a burst.. Ive looked around and it seems it around the the £250 mark.. Has anyone had this done to a bass body.. Im aware of Sims, but they are expensive.. just trying to get and idea of whats involved.. i can probably strip the bass of electronics etc.. is this necessary to have the body just bare wood.? i want a burst with a high gloss finish. any ideas.
4. Sorry Richard i stand corrected, . i hadn't seen your name at the end the end of any other Incognito posts.. WOW , one of my musical heroes..! your basslines have been such a joy to listen to over the years. can't believe it took me this long to realise.
5. i want this instrument.!
6.
Might not get any thanks here, but Rocco is way too mechical and it just isn't funky, IMO. U.K guy I used to like, Jerome Rimson. You can't ignore Jaco, as you know. You can get great lines from a pick and heavy muting. Anthony Jackson and Bobby Vega... who is great at whatever he does..
that guy has some great feel. he explains his technique very well also. actually that guy is awesome. i learned a lot from that.

Rocco has played some of the funkiest bass lines ever written. but beauty in the eye and all that.
8. those SEMIQUAVERS, (were not in america) are played to very good affect by this master. always thought his playing was amazing around those changes.
9.
Sounds to me like you're going in the right direction with your gear. When I was younger I was a busy player and didn't worry much about the detail of my sound. Loud and bassy was good enough. Then I had a lay off and when I came back I found my playing had evolved/grown up into a "less is more" approach, and when you're playing fewer notes, the better they are, the better your playing will sound. IMO, to sound your best the bass, amp and cab must have a synergy so that all parts of the signal chain compliment each other. Each part builds on the other parts. I set the volume and do one brief EQ (usually just setting the bass control) at the start of the gig and usually never touch the controls again. After the first gig with my Lull, I asked the guitarist (a very good player) what he thought of the new bass. I was hoping he'd tell me how much better it sounded. All he said was, "It was very good but it sounded like you." It took me awhile to work out that he was paying me a compliment. Enough waffle. Always play the best gear you can, and your playing will shine through.
i really don't get this Synergy thing. If you have decent gear and you play well people are gonna like it.. never understood the over thought that is put into your signal chain.? whats all that about.. a good sound is great but over thinking it can get obsessive.. not calling you obsessive by the way Chris. i just think too much thought can be put into gear, and your tone down to the slightest nuance i know a guy who has a £90 guitar lead.. apparently his signal is superb, extreme example i know but…. i feel like cutting it in half and asking how is Synergy is. there is a reason why i don't frequent the gear section.
10. ha ha. love a bit of irelivant humour.
11. what particular Sadowsky instrument was it.? maybe the Sadowsky is different because of the instruments your currently using. maybe they are a little heavier on the neck.. I've always found Sadowsky instruments to be very well balanced.. like i say its what your used to playing. i had an amazing SR5 but it was heavy, but then compared to my old RV5, the Sadowsky was almost too light.
12. I'm with you Pete. excellent band, great album this is from. Staying alive is on the same album.. always excellent bass playing.. good call bud. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKJO6OfGWzY&index=1&list=PL3708AF54FE607C52
