3. I'm sure lots of guys/girls have heard of this guy. I have often followed this guy and his bass playing. he's pretty incredible to be honest. his groove playing is just out there. Incognito's Jacobs Ladder is immense. this first vid is very early Julian Crampton. the second is his new band, Canned Beat.. i appreciate this guys playing. i sound like a fan boy don't i. 5.
How is a theme about Poverty, Violence, Drugs etc. not relevant today ? The only thing thats changed IMO is yes "The revolution will not be televised" but it will be on Facebook.
spot on.
6. Im sure lots have seen this. but for those who haven't, its a fascinating look at a 40 year master of guitar making. its quite staggering how much detail he goes into, and how much knowledge he has, explaining the different aspects of his building process is really interesting. Ive owned a Sadowsky and it was fantastic. wish i hadn't of let it go. i think a few of his views are not gospel, because different luthiers have different opinions i guess. its a long one but very interesting. 7.
80s Hip-Hop has aged terribly IMO, I think there is better stuff around today.
so what is better then.?. Hip hop is not all about social commentary. Some people actually like the sounds. If you listen to white lines, it's as relevant today as it ever was. You must have missed that maybe
8. then again Robbie played this seminal record.. nothing to with my life in the UK, but later in life i recognised Public Enemy's message. a furious record. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVaw-uNx1K4
9. i remember when Peel played it also. i also remember when Robbie Vincent played it on the Big Beat Show. has a lasting effect this record.
10. this guy is f***ing awesome. he has a knack of rapping, that is so rhythmic. awesome voice. one of the best rappers alive today imo.. went to see him in birmingham 2 months ago. he is the sh*t..
11. this is the best hip hop record ever recorded imo.. there i said it. funny, i love so many epic hip hop records. . White Lines is great, PE is up there. but its no Grand MasterFlash. its such an Epic hip hop record.. when ever i think of the essence of hip hop its this record. . 12. its so cool you have gone through/had the chance to experience/learn bass in this way. i never had that, i had to teach my self, thats why i took piano lessons to bring me up to speed. I'm looking at bass from a different perspective now, by playing piano in a reading, classical way.
13. ha. i was just listening to that record about an hour ago and loving the interesting bass line. good call JJ.
14. Following on from another thread. his harmonies are just.. its a very different album from his previous. Brown Sugar etc. Love Pino's playing on this record. just says everything about his subdued non flashy presence on a record, but wow what he plays. 15. I really dig that colour with no pick guard Jose.!! hows the MIJ going. ?
16.
I tried a 55-14 and I have played a 55-94 and a 55-02 a few times they are great basses but they cant do Stingray as well I a Stingray, almost but no cigar. Lovely well built work horse one bass for every occasion though.
true..not quite there.. but they will do lots of things that a StingRay can't. i would love another SR5 though.
17.
If going to the toilet involves a cup, you're doing something wrong, and you may just be a dodgy internet meme...
yep, but erm .. you lost me somewhere between the start and the end.
18. how on earth do people break Bass Guitar strings.???? are you pulling the strings off the fretboard. ? baffled on the technique people are using, to break a string on a bass. just how..?
19. sorry to embarrass you. I'm sure your not. Face book tells everything.
20. sorry to stray off, topic but how many laps did you do Nige.?
21. yep your correct. i can't see what your doing wrong.
22.
Hmm... Another 4 minutes lost. Oh well...
i should have said, its not the general drumming, but when he has space, its great. but do express my sorrow to your 4 minutes.. but i always look at the positive side, i spend that much time on the toilet, so even when I'm listening to sh*t, my cup is always half full.
23. i just love this. the drumming is so cool in parts.
