IIRC, the Helix already has amp models of the Sunn 300, the Mesa 400 and the GK 800. Can't recall if it has the Aguilar, think it probably does. To be fair, I think it is only the Helix that has a good selection of bass amp & cab models. The others (Headrush, Axe-FX, Ampero, etc.) are more geared towards guitarists. The Kemper should have a reasonable amount of bass related models available. If you got one, you could always beg or borrow certain rigs and model them for yourself.

My teenage son's wanting to learn to play the drums, and he's wanting a kit. An acoustic kit is not even being considered, so it's a case of figuring out which electronic kit is going to be a good starter kit for him, have some good drum sounds in the module, and have the potential to hold it's value for when he gets bored of it (fingers crossed he won't though!). Been looking at a few kits in the "beginner" range, and the Tourtech TT12S is the current favourite, mainly because of the location of the snare pad being in the middle, as opposed to the electronic kit standard "off to the side". https://www.andertons.co.uk/drum-dept/electronic-drums/electronic-drum-kits/tourtech-tt12s-drum-kit-accs-bundle-(inc-headphones-sticks-throne) The Alesis Turbo Mesh & Nitro Mesh kits look ace, and have the advantage of the mesh drum pads, which are supposed to be more like actual drum skins, rather than the solid rubber pads on the cheaper kits. Of course, I'm looking at the second hand option as well, there's a few of the cheaper kits knocking about, and some Alesis kits as well. As always, it's a bit of a minefield. Any knowledge of electronic drums in the BC collective? Thanks. (Don't worry, all is not lost, he's learning to play bass as well).

Got to admit to being a fan of the Line6 ranges, would love to get a Helix, but in reality, they're a bit too expensive for me to justify. I know the HX Stomp is the most reasonable, and then there's the new Pod Go, which uses the same model sets, but with some functionality compromises. However, they both have limited connectivity compared to the full fat Helix Floor and the Helix LT (which would be my choice). My vote (and money) is with the POD HD500x. All the connectivity of the LT, limited bass model set, but they sound great IMO. Bargain buy second hand, but still available new. You do have to buy the separate HD Bass pack to use it with bass, but it's not that expensive, and well worth the money. Plus if you play guitar as well, there's plenty of choice sounds to play with. The Boss GT10B, GT6B, GT1B, ME50B, etc. all have a good reputation.
