1. I thought he was fantastic. And it was nice to be able to hear the bass on that show for a change too!
2. Cannot... pick... just 4...!
3. ... And Now The Bumping Starts!
4.
ie Rodger Waters, not a virtuoso but if he hadn't been in the band would they have come up with Dark Side or The Wall?
Not in a million years. Massive creative force. Still a mediocre bass player though.
5. And how could I forget - the Mrs also got me tickets for next year's London Bass Guitar Show! It will be my first one.
6. My dear Mum and Dad got me a Hofner Violin bass - gobsmacked to say the least. Always wanted one in tribute to Macca but could never really justify it to myself, not being able to imagine hen I'd put it to use. Well, it's a wonderful little bass, and it goes 'plonk'! Good old Dad (the mastermind of the operation) got a hardcase, 'proper' Hofner flats and authentic Hofner knobs to replave the bog standard black ones that come as stock. I'm genuinelly chuffed. The Mrs got me the Goblin box set (prog bass overload) and the Led Zep Celebration Day Blu-Ray (very little bass sadly).
7. Congrats mate, pleased it's finally being shown! But guess what - I don't have Sky...
8.
Chrome modification and knob/socket alteration alert! P
A vision of joy. Well done that man!
9.
....making them look and sound nothing like the originals. Whether or not that's good or bad is in the ear of the beholder. For me it's a bad thing. Wanted one of these for years but this issue has put me right off. A good reissue might have sold me one each of these but alas I shan't be buying. Shame.
I was actually have a dig at Gibson - I suggested they no longer use chrome hardware and pickups because they look and sound good. My point being that Gibson's current TB incarnation isn't a patch on the originals...
10. This will probably do better in the double bass section...
11. Entwistle - specifically the clip of My Generation live at the Marquee.. I was only about 7 when I saw it and didn't actually start playing for another 7 years but that was the point when I knew I wanted to play bass. Cue much (unsuccessful) begging of my Dad to buy me one of those £80 basses they used to advertise in Kerrang in the 80s...
12. Slade Alive - second best live album ever (after Live at Leeds). The 2-disc reissue is excellent. Is there a more under-valued bassist than Jim Lea? I also recommend the Live at the BBC CDs, lots of early material and covers played a bit raunchier than the studio versions. I need to get some Slade into our set.
13. Early Quo - unbeatable. My old band covered Big Fat Mama on our first album - have a listen: That's me in the glasses.
14.
Open to any trade offers!
What he said.
15. Fantastic! Hope there's some live stuff and not just mimes totp appearances.
16. Don't sell the P bass. I speak from personal experience. No matter how good the Thumb may be, and it will do amazing things, but it will never do what the P can do.

CURVED AIR
I think you mean Sonja Kristina - yes she still fronts the band - we are on tour in the UK April 2013 so check the website - we amy be nearer than you think, and theres a new live album out at the mo - I think this is posted to the wrong forum.. should be in the gig one I think oops.
I've got my tickets for the Beaverwood show booked already, I'll try to come over and say hello!
18. Is it as green as the pics make out? It's got a bit of a Burns vibe to it! Very cool bass.
19. Open to any trade offers!
20. I would love one of these. One day, I will have one. Gorgeous to play, very unique tone - hard to describe, but as everyone else has already said, it sounds 'natural' and very honest.
21. Fair play to Jerry.
22.
. Metal's a funny thing because all it takes to change the category is the vocal style or the guitar tone. Imagine early Korn with death vocals. Itd be doom wouldn't it?
No.
