Hi Guys, So I have come to the conclusion that this incredible Sei Flamboyant must go to a new home... The bass is nothing short of a masterpiece, the Thuya burl top/back and headstock caps (front and back!) look absolutely stunning, couple that with the AAAA flame maple neck you really have a show stopping look. The bass has a Schack Pre-amp which is incredibly tune-able, there's a little leaflet in the Hiscox case showing examples of various settings, these are adjustable from inside the control cavity. The knobs on the bass itself will then reflect the internal setting you've selected, literally making this bass suitable for any occasion, from ultra crisp clean notes to thunderous low ends. I play a lot of tap style and this bass is perfect for that. The action is incredibly low, but can obviously be raised should you want it to. The twin Bartolini pickups are awesome, a great tone coupled with the Schack pre. The bass has a Piezo pickup system under the bridge too, I can't stress the versatility of this thing. It has blue side LEDs too for that extra bit of flare! The bass really has every trick going, I imagine these days ordering this spec new would be in excess of £4000 direct from Martin. It comes with a Hiscox hard case too, so can be shipped safely (will need to discuss shipping costs as it MUST be sent fully insured). The negative points on this bass: It has a fair amount of play wear, I have tried to show this as clear as possible in the pictures, there is some crazing in the lacquer on the rear and some general wear and buckle rash. The neck on the rear just under the head stock has a lacquer crack, this has been looked at years ago by a luthier (around 8 years or so ago) when the damage occurred, it was deemed to be lacquer deep only, not wood deep. This crack has been on the bass for a little over 8 years and is absolutely 100% stable and has not changed or grown in the 8 years past. I am really only after cash for this bass, but may entertain trades so long as there is a minimum of £800-£1000 in cash my way. All things considered, the spec, the condition, this bass is incredible and I feel the price is more than fair.
