  1. It absolutely amazes me that with the astronomical prices they charge that they wouldn't have a system of serial numbers where what's stamped on the bass/guitar brings up the full details of the instrument at their end. It's literally just a spreadsheet they'd need!
  2. We all now know to buy from you for a good deal! 😂
  3. I bought a Warwick Thumb SC6 for £1000 a few years ago, traded it with @ziggydolphinboy, followed by instantly regretting that trade then spent 3 years trying to get it back, which I eventually did last year! Definitely another 'never leaving me' basses!
  4. I don't mean to be 'that guy', but are yours not the same as these? https://www.gak.co.uk/en/ld-systems-bp-pocket-2-bodypack-pouch/931839?gclid=CjwKCAjwq832BRA5EiwACvCWsSysSHpqC4Thcs-WUR6vArCX7htneXIFWlpWQmxqijiSrL_C-2e5tRoCDYoQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
  5. You're a liar and you know you are!
  6. You need to get yourself to aldi mate. 9 for £1.99.
  7. I've had 2 notably good deals from Cash Converters... One was a Warwick Vampyre with 001 serial number, later confirmed by Hans P Wilfer to be the first production Vampyre ever made. Paid £700. The other was a Sei 6 string headless that REALLY needed work as it had no pre-amp and some fret work was needed, but still, paid £350 for that. Sometimes Cash Converters can be worth looking in on!
  8. Looks very 'Marrakech Blue'. Majorelle Blue I think the technical name is. Or 'Burple' to some...
  9. I'd rather have the green felt tip...
  10. Bought another small batch of items from Alan, no problems at all! Everything arrived quickly, everything as described, happy to buy more bits as and when he has more to sell!
  11. Your Mesa rig looks even more spine destroying than mine! 😂 Speaking of which, that was a good deal... Got my Mesa Strategy Eight:88 and two Mesa Powerhouse cabs brand new in a sale for £2500, the full 'non-sale' price for the whole lot is £6200. Not exactly pennies, but 60% off brand new Mesa gear was fairly decent.
  12. Hahaha, that's awesome/ridiculous 😂 Great story @ubit
  13. @Burns-bass - if I were a Fender man, that's the kind of Fender I'd want! Lovely bass mate.
  14. Looked at a good number of sources and it's a fairly common place 'technique' with no where (including reports on the effects of said 'technique') mentioning any possibility of ill effects. It's a 9v battery with minimal ampage, I don't profess to say it's the wisest of ways to check a battery, but 999,999 times out of a million, it's utterly harmless.
  15. I've had a fair few guitars/basses/amps go through my hands in the last 15 years, some bought to 'try' and then moved on when I'm bored, some bought to bring some life back into, then released back into the wild (and to practice repairs etc. on!) with only the ones I absolutely fall in love with staying with me. Through the course of that I've been lucky enough to have some particularly good deals! Curious to know what 'best ever' deals other have had over the years, which a picture or two if possible for us to perv (I mean muse) over! For me, my 'best deal ever' was definitely my Conklin 8 string USA. Bought for £300 with some definite condition issues and being told the truss rod was dead, the pre-amp was dead, the neck was warped, as well as a blown battery that contaminated the cavity as the bass had been left in a VERY damp case for a LONG time. After stripping the bass down and leaving it to air out for a week, (it stunk of damp!) I reassembled it, put in a new battery connector and was amazed to find it worked 100%. This bass will NEVER leave me as it is almost exactly what I would order if I had a spare $12,000 to order a Conklin of this spec. That's my deal of a lifetime, what's yours?
  16. I tend to remove all batteries from all instruments when not in regular circulation. Saves forgetting about a battery and ending up with a leak which can be very destructive! I know it sounds a bit foolish, but if I'm unsure of the 'life' left in a battery, I'll touch my tongue to both terminals, if you get a VERY sour 'zing' then they're good, if it's dull and doesn't make you squint, or there is no zing at all, then they're on their way out!
  17. Looks like you're doing a truly terrible job... you best finish it and send it to me to put in the 'bin' for you. 😁 Looks like you're doing some good work there sir! Looking forward to seeing the finished article. P.S. I like the matching headstock, shows it's unique and also not pretending to be a Warwick!
  18. The only Kenneth Lawrence bass I have personally played is Jean Baudin's 11 string 'Joust'. The build quality is as high as can be, utterly superb things...
  19. Would you consider selling the 6? Or at least grace us with a picture!! 😋
  20. Indeed, Vintage it is! The oddly thin upper horn and 'thigh to pickguard' bout are giveaways l.
  21. I'm afraid I have to call double bullshít on that! To me the body looks like a Harley Benton MM copy, and the neck doesn't appear to be genuine Fender either.
  22. Maybe when Hellzero freezes over... 🥶
