Backup amps

I specify my required backline to the promoter and it magically appears on stage at the soundcheck. I actually don't own an amp.

  3.
I can't see Vintage Ben's original post now. Like I said before, I like the place (in London).
Me neither Obviously embarrassed and deleted it.
  4.
I'm still on 6. Had 5PE before that and when 6 came in with all the extra time stretching stuff it pretty much ticked the last remaining boxes I could have asked for. I hear the later versions have done a great job improving an already great user interface though.
The upgrade to 7PE is the best upgrade they've done. In 7 they've improved midi editing and now incorporate proper sidechain routing ( Hurrah!!! about time)...these 2 enhancements are worth the upgrade price alone. Do it - you won't regret it.
  5. LE versions of most software comes with audio interfaces. You'll need a proper interface with decent ASIO/WDM driver support or you'll hit problems with the dreaded latency. I know Edirol comes with Sonar LE I run Sonar7 producer edition at home and it's dead simple.
  6. What do the insides look like? Does it have full neck support? Is it foam inside or felt or fur or what? THX
  7.
For 6K a night i would just buy a bass out there. Each night ;-)
That's between 5 of us... Curious now might start a thread on how much bands charge - the forthcoming 3 gigs are being done for half that fee each.
  8.
it helps your welcome to borrow it for your trip (you are coming back aren't you ;-)
i am coming back yeah and then flying again 2 weeks later... Thanks for the offer but I wouldn't want to borrow it and then have it smashed or lost - I've got to sort my own solution. It looks like there are further Euro gigs in negotiation for later in the year - the fee is the only sticking point atm - holding out for minimum €6k a night .....maybe I can afford the fitted case.
  9.
The New SKB cases that come with the 2008 USA Fenders have these TSA locks on them. Twigman, let me konw if you want to borrow it as i dont use it.
Is that one of these: http://www.dv247.com/invt/42250/ if it is might you wish to sell it? I have a Mepal 5star hard case which I used to use back in the 80s to fly my bass around Europe - I'm a little concerned that it is not robust enough see attached pic Flying April 7th so got to sort something (at hopefully minimal £££ - I bought the Mrs a £15k kitchen last month) quick I am sorely tempted by this beauty: http://www.gothardflightcases.co.uk/10313/...ch=&sought=

  13. I'm gonna get shot down here, I know, but I love my elite flats.
  14. I wouldn't want a number, me. I have fully functioning incisors and eat all meats - it's what I'm designed to do.
  15.
I was thinking of buying the very same pedal. Oh well, i'll hunt down another one.
Sorry you snooze you lose.
  16. I never do it anymore since I lent a Quadraverb out for a guitarist friend to use at a gig and I never saw it again.
  17. Fender part number is 0021956000 http://www.allparts.uk.com/output-jack-p-4562.html?p=product

  20.
I really don't know how you gig that thing!
+1 And why would you? I have never used more than 1 pedal while gigging.
  21.
Anyone know a good place in London to get- a) pickups fitted bass set up (intonation, truss, action etc) c) insides properly screened?
http://home.btconnect.com/aguitar/history/aboutus.htm I've had work done here before to a very high standard: Andy's Denmark Street - I believe it's called something else now as Andy sold out but he still does most of the work - he just didn't need the hassle of running the business.
  22.
Quick answer - buy a BBE OptoStomp
Just bought one of these £55 BIN on the bay.....I hope you are right. It's coming from Liverpool - I do hope it gets here before next Wednesday!!
  23. We've been reviewed umpteen times over the years but I recently found this after the re-release of our first album last month: http://www.threeimaginarygirls.com/recordr...epicgardenmusic which is one helluva good review. My favourite bit:
The following track, “Clocktower Lodge,” is slower and more atmospheric, recalling some kind of damp and foggy winter day. Despite this, the bass continues to chug along and drives the song down the dimly lit, soggy motorway.
WTF?
  24. When we split up I was really rather pissed off. I then jammed with a couple of lads I knew through a crowd I drank with but tbh one of them just wanted to be in Metallica - how depressing I took up playing keyboards incredibly badly and was invited to join another signed band (playing keys!!) by a bloke in the pub who had previous to my time played in the band that had just split... I took up home recording, got myself as was then an Atari 520SE and the 1st version of cubase.... Now I have a pretty decent home studio running Sonar7 and Reason and VSTs I have learned a rudimentary knowledge of music production and the technical side. I have had tracks released commercially with 2 different bands playing on 2 different instruments. and what's more the original band that split has now reformed almost 20 years later!!! and I can't even read a stave!!! so my advice is go drinking with the muso crowd and be prepared to whore yourself to anyone LOL
