I'm thinking SR840, but the control layout is off, and the 840 didn't have fretboard markers and had a carved body and fingerboard end. Does it have a lacquered neck in a matching transparent blue colour? If it does, it's definitely in the 800 series or up.

I am selling one of my ATK300's (sorry Ian, the 305's still not going :?) as I have just bought a Stingray 5 and already have two other ATK's. I used this ATK300 for D-tuning but have no need for that in my current bands. Those of you who know the ATK series will know what this is. For those who don't: the aim of the ATK was for Ibanez to draw customers who wouldn't normally buy an Ibanez. The ATK is everything the most well-known Ibanez bass, the Soundgear, is not: it is anything but sleek and light. Its aim was also to provide an affordable alternative to the MM Stingray, and it did so with grace. The first run of ATK's was Korean-made. Later on, Japanese models also became available, until finally the curtain fell for the ATK in 2000. Both the Japanese and Korean made ATK300 and the Japanese made ATK305 were available lefthanded. In 2007 new ATK's were introduced, this time Korean and Indonesian made, including a lefty version of the Paul Gray (Slipknot) model. There are no regular models available lefthanded anymore though. The one I'm selling is made in Japan. The specs: - 3-piece ash body, finished in transparent black; - 3-piece maple neck, wide and fat; - big ATK bridge; - 3-coil ATK humbucker, switchable to parallel / singlecoil (+ phantom coil) / singlecoil (+ phantom coil) + high cut; - 3-band EQ. The body has some dents, that's how I got it about 7 months ago. I've marked them in the pictures. I'm asking 400 Euros or best offer. Shipping within most of Europe is 30 Euros. Eastern Europe is 40 Euros. Shipping to the USA is 104 Euros.

That Anniversary looks pretty convincing. The bridge kinda makes me think of the Hipshot replacement bridge for Rics. The bridge pickup cover looks tinny and fragile though, like it will bend as soon as you rest your wrist on it for pick playing.

Thanks! Me too I've played the Italia exclusively during the last The Bullfight-gig and it rumbles like no other through my Ashdown. I had my Rickenbacker (which costs more than four times as much) with me as well but in the end I just kept it as a backup and didn't play it.

It also has the bridge placed further back towards the edge of the body so the neckjoint is at the 17th fret instead of the 18th, and the headstock is slightly smaller. It has more battle scars than the average Vietnam veteran and the active electronics and the bridge pickup do not work at the moment, but even with just the massive splitcoil played passive it sounds amazing and big! I'm having my luthier look at the electronics but I'm leaving the damaged finish the way it is. Sorry for the poor pic, it was getting dark already so I had to use flash. To the left is my 1981 MC924 that I already had, to the right is the 1983 MC924.

Gigbag like no other, more case than bag but still very lightweight and comfortable. Expensive too, but really a great bag.

I've been amazed by prices some EBMM's go for on the British secondhand market. I saw some Sterlings sell for 700 pounds, which is about 800 euros, whereas they generally sell for about 1100-1200 euros on the Dutch market. I myself got a killer deal on a Stingray 5 from the UK recently. It may well be worthwhile to advertise your Stingray on leftybass.com too, I sold my G&L SB-2 there in no-time (within two hours!).

I have a broad taste. For Fender- or MM-style instruments, I love black with a black 3-ply pickguard and maple board or white with a black 3-ply pickguard. I think white also looks great with dark-stained fingerboards like rosewood or ebony. I love a nice transparent finish too though. Up until two years ago, I would have preferred transparent finishes anytime but my taste has shifted On basses without pickguards, I usually prefer a transparent finish (preferably natural) so the wood really shines.

If this is really selling for 250, someone's having a killer deal here. E-series era MIJ Fenders are great instruments. They were the first all-Japanese-made series after the JV (which had USA-made hardware and electronics) and the SQ-series (which also had some USA-made parts). I have a Strat from that era and wouldn't even THINK about selling it. Great instrument, it feels like coming home every time I play it. -
Damn you and your StingRays, just bought an SR5 and still have three ATK's so I really don't need one, but otherwise I'd be seriously tempted by that black one (I feel a StingRay should have a maple board, and I've come to love black on black)
