1. I had a plunk on this when it was naked(!)... it felt lovely. ..and now, it looks lovely, too. Nice one!
2. I think Neil Young nailed it years ago. His general view was: We used to listen to music... get involved in it, in the dynamic, warmth and amazing detail analogue provided. Now, we're generally reduced to listening to a flat facsimile of the original performance. It's depressing, but I think I agree with him.
3.
what's you problem with me fag... c'mon f***in' ignorants go and eat sh*t you think you're very clever or something? you don't have a proper band and you're not goin' anywhere in the future.
4. I'd recommend the Ibanez Promethean. It's compact, it sounds great at low (and high) volume, it has an Aux in and headphone out for playing along with mp3's, and if you need to up the ante for a gig you can either add another cab, or take the head out and use it with a larger cab. I'd agree with what's been said above about the Walkabout Scout. They're not great for plunking around in the house.
5. You might want to put that in the title, rather than your username. Good luck with the sale!
6. Yip.. leave it alone.
7.
P.S. Leave poor old Adam Clayton alone..I don't care how big his house is, if I had to play what he does year in year out I'd have gone down Sainsbury's with an Uzi years ago....
8. Infidels. Produced by Knopfler, Sly & Robbie in the engine room. Man of Peace, Union Sundown... etc. They swing like good'uns. Apart from that, his latest stuff has a great groove.
9. If any of you disgruntled La Bella owners want to sell, let me know... :-) I agree with a comment above... All to often, live sound engineers just don't know what to do with flats. They EQ them like rounds, and you end up with mud. It's frustrating.
10.
Actually, i was thinkingthe same as you, but i have to admit that my tests made me change my mind. I tried the PP & other P-Bass (same amps), and (in my hears), the PP has something more. I found it a deeper in the bass range.
Were the strings and setup of the other basses the same as the Pino? That would be a fair comparison.
11. I'm fairly immune to neck profiles..
12. I like Guy, as a storyteller and a bass player. FWFW, here's what he said:
Learning the Blockheads set for gig Saturday..Bass heaven!! Oh Norman I am not worthy..
He knows they're big shoes to fill.
13.
+1 Amazing little bit of kit. Probably to most versatile, reliable and affordable combo doing the rounds at the moment. The removable amp head keeps up with most of the current crop of 500W class D amp heads out there too. I won't be without mine for the foreseeable! Eude
+2. Of course, a lot is going to depend on your requirements....
14.
Oh yeah I suppose it is! Why is the bridge so far forward though?! Bit of an uninspiring eBay ad for such an expensive bass. Why would someone sell a new custom guitar though?
Why would someone criticise an eBay ad without checking the facts first? Just sayin'.
15. For the Blockheads' gig at Cropredy on Saturday.. Guy Pratt, apparently.
16. It's legit - that's where the bridge is on the Custom Classics.
17.
Hindsight being the wonderfull thing it is, I could agree, but it was my Nowt, hence the OP, and now its sorted.
I appreciate what you're saying, but hindsight generally takes the form of 'If only I knew then what I know now.' I seem to recall that people were suggesting you contact SWR all the way through the thread. I, for one, was a little puzzled why you didn't. ...until now, but it's all sorted and it's all good.
18. By ear.
19. Lovely, lovely flats. Anyone who says flats do nothing but thump should get acquainted with one little word - mids.
20. Load of fuss about nowt. SWR should have been emailed straight away. Glad it's sorted, though.
21. FlatEric - can you hack into CK's account and change his avatar to something else, please? That goat keeps sending me subliminal messages to hurt people.
22. I imagine they'll sell all 30 no problem.
23. Excellent! Nice feeling, isn't it? North-East of England, or Scotland?
24.
not the most encouraging of feedback lol! well i guess you can call it a piezo... its half a pbass pickup underneath the bridge lol
Under the bridge? Zoiks... Nah, it's not the one I had. I'm sure with decent electrics in there it'll do the job...
25. I used to own one identical to this... maybe even the same one? Anyway, it was a backup for my other Bassix EUB... but it was a completely different beast and I was never happy with it. Is there a piezo anywhere on it?
