1. Marillion were a band I really tried hard to get into back in the day (all my pals were well into them around the time of Brave) but... every time the drummer plays a fill it sounds like he's playing a different song. It totally ruins it for me.
2.
s Doc' timestamp='1364409526' post='2026144'] Psst, wanna see what genuine roadworn looks like? My 1963:-[/sup]
...and here's what it sounds like, through a Barefaced Compact: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gCyD829YY1M Gan on, Doc!
3. Hello! Yip... I've had a torrid time trying to choose between this and the Walkabout. I've been tearing my hair out (as any of my Facebook BC pals will attest - I've had one for sale, then the other, then changed my mind...). The Aggie is far more practical (higher output, mute, post / pre DI), and kicks like a mule, but for the gigs I've got coming up the sound guys are used to my Walkabout and do great things with it. I've realised the tubes in the Walkabout are just more me. It's been a pleasure A/B-ing them for the last six weeks or so, mind.
4. I'd love to be in this gang. There's some sweeeet basses in this thread. Maybe one day I will be...

6. Still available.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXoxhOYBv7c
7. Apart from the recent downtime due to implementation of the charging system, and CloudFlare's current blip, BC is generally pretty stable (apart from the clientele). You know what they say about crap - sometimes it happens. And it's happening now. But soon it won't be. So stop your moaning, moaners!
8.
I don't buy the notion that buying British makes you some kind of nazi. Way to go in hijacking a celebration of British endeavor for your own suspect motives.
Did you use 'way to go' and 'endeavor' in an ironic kind-of way? ;-)
9.
Genuine question - do these things work reasonably well? I ask because I've thought about getting one but every rehearsal session I've heard by various people using a variety of devices from smartphones to camcorders have been over-recorded and severely distorted. Fine for taking audio notes of a jam session or rough song ideas, but pretty much useless for anything else. I hasten to add that I've never heard anything from these Zoom devices and I suspect they are rather better, hence my question.
They're far better. Placement is important, as is setting the gain (usually LO on my H2), but it copes very well at high volumes.
10. The Bass Doc. HE DA MAN.
11. One of the Zooms - I use the H2 with great results... about £80 used, I think?
12. Ah, sorry. There's been a few threads about the ads and I thought this was one of the the generic ones. I can see how you took it as a dig at you.
13.
Very mature. And inaccurate. Get a grip eh?
It wasn't aimed at you - sorry for not being clear. It was just a mischievous amalgamation of what the mods have been dealing with for the last few weeks.
14. Personally, I don't mind tasteful relic'ing, but it looks wrong on basses that can't be old enough to warrant it (Sandbergs, for example).
15. Pino's the man, like. He's a joy to listen to. Not so fussed on the 80s fretless stuff - it gives me nightmares based around white socks, flecccy trousers, slip-on shoes and pushed-up jacket sleeves. P with flats... yum.
16. I think you're thinking of the American Deluxe QMT / FMT.
17. I'M SO ANNOYED! I POSTED AN AD FOR SOMETHING ON THIS SITE, WOT IVE BEEN USING FOR FREE FOR YEARS. AND BECAUSE I REFUSED TO PAY MY AD HAS BEEN DELETED AND THE MODS DIDNT GO TO THE EFFORT TO EXPLAIN TO ME WHAT I COULDN'T BE BOTHERED TO READ. AND NOW IM GOING 2 RANT ABOUT IT WITHOUT SEEKING AN EXPLANATION FIRST. I'M CONSIDERING LEAVING BC BECAUSE OF THIS!!!!!
18. No. Me too. In fact, I'm going to post one myself.
19. Hello powers-that-be! Is there something odd going on with notifications tonight? I've been missing out of a few (and they're not in my junk mail), and I've just had a random one notifying me of a reply to a thread called '2'. The thread it's linking to is actually called something else, and it hasn't had any replies since August 2012...? Ta!
20. Anyone who pays fifteen quid for this slice of tat should be hunted down, tarred and feathered.
21.
Is that tolex similar to Trace Elliot's maybe?
It's some sort of carbon fibre, I think.
22. Have you done a factory reset? Hold down all 3 preset buttons when you switch the amp on. You never know....
23. Helloooooooo! I reckon Jim Bergantino rules the roost when it comes to build quality.
24. Cheers, all! I'm surprised too, but I guess times are hard. Did I mention that it's a lovely medium weight, edging toward medium-light?
