1. Laklands or La Bella FLs for me. Laklands edge it, and they're very reasonably priced.
2. Cheers, all! They're pretty much an unknown quantity over here, but he's well established in Scandanavia. I've done a lot of research (thanks to Google translate!), and had a lot of discussion with Tommy (whose English is impeccable) and existing owners. My Bergs are great - they're Bergs, after all - but I don't do tweeters any more. And, although they aren't heavy in the grand scheme of things, my back has been playing up recently so the lighter the better.
3.
Nice one Michael, I love vertically stacked cabs (my old Ampeg with two 2x10s sounded great on stage). Interested to know, if there's only one driver per cab, if it make any difference whether they're vertically or horizontally stacked? C
Cheers! I suppose it might make a difference as the distance between the drivers will change, but how much, I'm not sure. Tommy (Mr. TKS) provides them in either config.... it's up to the buyer.
4. ...with logos intact:
5. We have two winners!
6. I got a cover made up for my Ibanez Promethean. First one they'd had, so I had to do the measuring... and it was spot-on. I'm about to order another couple of covers from them, too.
7.
I'm guessing they are 210s?
Nope...
Whatever they are, that top handle is in a silly place if you want to stack them vertically!
...unless the feet are tall enough to clear the handle
8. Not Barefaced - Alex has a marvellous cab in prototype, but it could be a while before it goes into production. Not Lego (or Duplo). Not Fender. Not Trace. And as for Warwickhunt knocking things up over a lunch break - the less said about that the better...
9. None of the above :-D No giving the game away, Mr. Hunt...!
10. (This thread is a bit of a journey... the review etc. starts here.) Hello! I've got some new cabs on the way. Built to order... and they're being sent tomorrow. Yay! The builder has sent me this pic before he packed them up. I've blocked out the logo 'cos I like guessing games. I'm fairly sure I'm breaking new ground as far as Basschat goes.... more photos and opinions when I have them.
11. So, among the key selling features of this amp are:

It has a ground lift on the DI
It puts full power into 8ohm
Ashdown marketing. LOL.
12.
Usually its the backline that needs to go down. Mind you, that starts me on another soapbox, the soundman control thing where he wants the backline to be so anaemically and uninspiringly quiet so he has full control of everything with a nice big margin. I have to remind him that he has a sound reinforcement system which reinforces the sound of the band where it's needed. If he doesn't need bass through the foh, then fine, it doesn't HAVE to go through. (This is for smaller venues of course, the real ones that I'm likely to play most often.)
I can only comment on my own circumstances - most of the bands I play with have a very controlled on-stage volume. +1 to the rest of your post.
13. At the risk of sounding like a grumpy old man (which I am, I suppose), a lot of these issues could be solved straight away if the FOH was TURNED DOWN A BIT and the subs were turned down a bit more still.
14.
Must be an issue with Firefox (all releases), because more often than not this site is slow as treacle to load on all of my machines. All other sites are fine. I'm against IE and Chrome so I don't use them.
Chrome for people who are against Chrome.
15. S'ok fer me in Chrome...
16. Are you sure it's a BC server problem?
17. TC RH450 owners have a choice here...
18. FWIW, I read your original post and it didn't give me the impression you were the seller...

20. I face 'generic zero-definition bass tone' syndrome quite often. I try not to stress about it these days, 'cos if the engineer wants to mix the band from the drums up there's nowt you can do about it. I generally insist on a mic or post-DI which I think helps. Every now and then we get someone who knows what mids are, and what flatwounds should sound like. I cherish those moments.
21. Simpl reason fer me - I want to be in charge of what I hear on the stage.
22. Gah! I was just about to press the button.....
23. '68s have the single-coil.
24.
http://forums.fender.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=86876&p=978897#p978897 Read it ALL.
I think, my friend, you have issues with insecurity.
25.
I always thought of this forum as reasonably well informed, but some of the comments on this thread verge on comic parody. As far as I can tell no-one commenting on this thread (up till now) was there and so are basing their opinions on a tv mix of less than half of the full show. This is my favourite........ You don't know, you cannot judge - you have never seen them live!!
You're forgetting that I have ears.... which, despite dodgy TV mixes, can tell me if I like the music they're playing. I love a lot of Stones records. Gimme Shelter's groove is one of the best there is. But... musically, I've never heard them even begin to tap into that groove on live recordings of it. That's one example. Wether or not the sheer scale of the event compensates for that or not, I cannot say. Hence the disclaimer.
