Yes I usually use 10's for acoustic but I've put some Martins on and they feel awful. Not a Nylon man at all though I suppose they could feel softer, hmm
  2. Thanks for clearing that up.
  3. I'm confused, what's sold and what's still available?

    strings

Hi all. I'm taking up guitar again, I've only played 12 strings for most of my life but now the arthritis has mostly stopped that so I'm looking for a 6 string electro acoustic to play about with. I have an Epiphone Hummingbird but it feels cheap and I'm not getting along with it but the thrust of this is about strings. Because I take heart drugs that reduce the blood flow to my finger ends they get very painful playing guitar, now years ago there was a brand that made what I would call 'soft' strings. They had silk wound in them but I don't recall what they were called? Does anyone know of any make of strings that have a soft feel to them please? thanks for any help. tom.
  9. Well here's another bass without a tone control, as title. I've no idea who he is or why it has that stupid logo that nobody can see when you're playing it. Pretty loud and proud though with its Duncan designed 4 1/2 oz pickup. Got it accidentally and now it needs to go. Weighs just under 9lbs so not a backbreaker unless you're made of cardboard. There are 2 marks, one on the upper front horn which is a slight indent, paint still intact, the other on the lower back looks like a scuff and will probably polish out. Just being honest. Nothing I need at the moment but I'm feak and weeble so you never know. Price includes UK delivery. Pics:
  10. Thanks for that, I did google them and have been ringing since 9am, maybe they close early for the weekend, well they are Italian I emailed them this morning too, no reply. Strangely I can't find anywhere that gives opening hours either. The prices on the website haven't changed since 2006! I'll report back when I find something out
  11. Yes, this is my solution and I'm not ashamed.
  12. Hi all, does anybody know if Brandoni Guitars is still open? They sell vox teardrop and Eko guitars and I've used them before and I'm in need of their services again. The number rings out but no-one answers, is anyone near their address: Unit 3.6 Wembley Commercial Ctr 80 East Lane Wembley Middlesex, HA9 7XJ to have a look please? Thanks, Tom.

  14. What is the weight please?
  15. Thanks GP, I wonder if it would help to sell it if I put a tone control on?
  16. Awesome bass Iain, this won't be around long.
  17. Hi all, I bought this recently for my wife to replace her ageing 12 string, it was meant to be a nice surprise for her but she had already decided that she wanted a smaller bodied one as "I'm not getting any younger" So she now has a new smaller Taylor 12 string. So up for sale is this beautiful Takamine EG 523 full Jumbo, it has a big loud and proud sound, has no fretwear at all despite being around 10 years old. It was never used apart from being on display. It has the amazing TK40 preamp and a new set of strings. It also comes with a Gator Hard case which is also in excellent condition. Price includes delivery to UK. Pics:
  18. Oh . my . goodness! Made the year before I left school, I was 14 Awesome.
  19. I've done a couple of big-ish gigs over the years as a 12 string guitarist and it's an epic feeling standing there with all those people looking at you and your band. I bet you have a great time and I hope it goes really well for you.
