  1. Just sold a lovely guitar to Russ, a fine gentleman who paid very quickly. Great communication and very friendly guy to boot. Deal with confidence folks, top fella. thanks Russ. Tom.
  2. Just watched Jack & Meg whiter do 7 nation army Live at rock am, here I thought wtf, but it's fascinating, the feedback, wow, for some reason I keep watching it. crazy.
  3. Well, another fine deal with Nick. Bought a Dimarzio pickup and it arrived quickly. Great comms as always, an absolute credit to Basschat, I'm always a bit nervous dealing with people I don't know but Nick makes you feel safe that way. Packaging was beautifully neat and well protected. Thanks again Nick.
  4. Outstanding, good job it has a rosewood board or I'd have been knocking on your door. GLWTS.
  5. Hi, I just want to commend Aidan for the work he has carried out on my recently bought USA P bass. When I got it I could hardly play it because the neck had high frets and was out of line. Aidan has fixed this and set it up to perfection with a low 'sensor touch' action, I can't put it down now. very quick turnaround and a very reasonable price too. Friendly and very knowledgeable Basschatter. Highly recommended! Thanks mate. Tom.
  6. Thanks very much again, good sound advice and I'm off to do some investigating. tom
  7. Thanks for that guys. I don't understand the technology behind this so I'm struggling, all I need to know is, who makes higher tension strings? where do Ernie Ball sit with their 45-105 sets? Or am I asking the impossible? cheers.
  8. Hi, How do I tell the difference between high and low tension strings? I use ernie ball hybrid slinky 45 - 105's and I don't know what tension they are. I like a low action and understand that I need higher tension strings for that? Can anyone give an example of HT strings please? or better still how to tell. There's nothing on the packet. TIA
  9. I think I'll leave it alone and standard, I have 6 other P's to gig with so not desperate yet......
  10. Yes, that's one of the reasons I didn't Richard, I did however do that very thing with my Chris Aiken Squier, sports a KiOgon loom now and with that slim neck I decided to keep it. Besides nothing is selling nowadays and I can't be bothered.
  11. Me too! pedals complicate things unless it's an EHX organ that i've just bought for use with a guitar...
  12. Just bought a Telecaster from Paul, great communication, was well boxed and secure. Very happy with my guitar and Paul is a great basschatter, recommended. cheers, Tom.
  13. That sounds fantastic Trevor.
  14. I know how you feel. I sold my Stingray to Linus27 of this parish and have regretted it ever since. If you're out there Linus I'd like it back please?
  15. Thanks guys, I am looking forward to it, we will meet him before for a sound check and other things. I followed the Manfreds in the early 60's, I loved those old songs and he is a great blues singer and harmonica player. I didn't realise he was retiring from the blues show, heck he's only 77! Just a youth really... He'll be there singing 'The Lord's my shepherd' (newer version) so we will have played with him if you squint a little
  16. Sunday night we have Paul Jones from Manfred Mann & his wife coming to our church to give testimony and sing. We get to play a worship song at the beginning and maybe wallpaper music before as people come in. Should be good.

    MONITORS.

Thanks guys, although I like bass (of course!) they would do for now. However, late last night I realised that my output was set to headphones . so I changed it to computer and now the sound comes through the tower that has 2 6" woofers in it. Great but no stereo separation. Schoolboy error.... Onwards and upwards, thanks to all.

    MONITORS.

Can I just reiterate that I have no need at the moment for excellence in anything I'm doing, I just want to set up a means of recording stuff that's in my head onto my Mac. I don't need anything amazing until I know what I'm doing and if I get sick of doing it I don't want to be lumbered with a lot of expensive gear. My setup as of today is: A 27" Mac a Focusrite 2i2 interface for guitars etc' An M-Audio mini 32 keystation Headphones. and Garageband. My Mac speaker is bypassed and is now connected to a tower thing that plays all kinds of sticks and cards as well as acting as my mac speaker.\At the moment the only sound off my bass which I have just recorded a test line is coming through the headphones, but I want to hear it through speakers as well, so does my wife. How do I connect the machinery so the sound comes out of my main speaker? There are 2 monitor outs on the 2i2. Told you I'm not very good with this stuff.
  20. So Tonetech then, I'll have a look. cheers.
  21. Hi all, is there anywhere in the UK to buy sandpaper in strips for a beam fret sander please? Can't seem to find anyone... ta much. tom.
