1. Sorry, don't mean any offence. I often am very interested in an item with no location but as McNach says it's their loss.
2. Worra to$$er! "You can arrange your own courier but all I can do is put it in its gigbag for (no) protection" Don't put yourself out whatever you do
3.
I guess it depends who you admire. Gary Willis, Steve Lawson, Anthony Jackson, Janek Gwizdala, Matthew Garrison, John Patitucci, Jimmy Haslip, Andrew Gouche, Anthony Wellington, Todd Johnson, Damien Erskine, Tom Kennedy, Tony Grey, Kai Ehhardt, Adam Nitti, Richard Bona, and Jimmy Johnson are some of my favourite players. All play either a 5 string or a 6 as their main instrument. The only 4 string players I really like are Michael Manring, Stanley Clarke and Marcus Miller .
I'm embarrassed to say that I've never heard of any of the 5 string players.
4. Yeah I'm good Karl, the smiley means: WTF?
5. No not that one. Is it just me that gets very frustrated reading adverts and getting a little bit excited about a bass, amp etc' only to find that the OP's location box hasn't been filled in? You then have to post saying like "where are you located?" I immediately lose interest and don't bother anymore. No one wants to put their address or road up publicly but come on! the town shouldn't be a problem. I'm sure a lot of sales are lost because people can't be bothered waffing about asking where they are in the country (or even the world) It should be the law /discuss
6. 9 at the moment, had 27 this time last year. Place is looking a bit empty
7. That looks nice Iain
8. How can you tell it's plywood?
9. Nuvver bump. These are excellent, easy to play basses, you wouldn't be disappointed.
10. I'd love an explorer shaped bass..
11. yesnoyesnoyesnoyesnoyesnoyesno....... absolutely gas free here! no I'm not, maybe, perhaps. Yes, I don't know, need to buy another bass to make sure I'm gas free. Err..
12. That face on your arm is trying to hypnotize me...........
13. Cheers guys!
14. I have the aforementioned TRB1004 and it is everything you would expect from a quality well made instrument. Back in the day I was a Yamaha dealer and have to say even the 70 quid acoustic guitars were superb for the money. I suppose they can be a bit soul less but the TRB is full of character after some stuff that I've played lately but I've hung my coat on the G&L stand and I'm unlikely to remove it in the foreseeable future. Stonkin bass though
15. Well, another deal done with Geoff, I echo everyone's praise for the excellent communication, friendly emails and very quick payments. Thanks again sir, hope to deal again soon! Take care, Tom.
16.
quote.... Will having a newer string sound odd? there is lots of more important things in this world..
There speaks the Zen Master
17. That's what I call music! Terrific! Etc'
18. Each to their own but as an almost OAP I come from a different generation. My parents were into Sinatra, Andy Williams etc' and I used to think WTF? Now I never criticise anyone's taste, it's such a personal thing.
19. Nothing to compare it to for the asking price, the only ones I can find are much cheaper? Perhaps more info and a pic would be helpful? I'm at that point where I sometimes have to sit due to back problems and a plastic chair just don't cut it.
20. I'd go back to the shop and say you made a mistake and you want the jazz version, doubt you'd lose much more than you would here.
21. Must.... re...sist..... I have a natural trib and it's my best G&L, buy it as you won't be sorry.
22. So you're selling a bass that we can't see? you don't even state what colour it is or how old it is? Then we have to travel to Grimsby to see it?Not making much effort here are you? yes I'm looking for one.
