  1. Similar with tempo. If the song gets much faster or slower then the original bass part may well need changing.
  2. I recall some 'deadheads' becoming 'punks' overnight. At least they shared some anti-establishment credentials, or so they claimed. I always liked American Beauty and Workingman's Dead.
  3. I had a fretless Fender Jazz with TI flats. Similarly, I had a fretless Fender Precision also with TI flats. But on a Takamine B10 I preferred La Bella 760FS flats.
  4. Megan Davies Interview
  5. I don't get why changing the strings would make a bass more saleable.
  6. Oh, and I play with one finger, two if really necessary.
  7. +1 on very short fingernails. I can't bear any length at all.
  8. Brian Wilson on the thumb and tugbar ...
  9. Just a personal preference of course but I like DR Legend Flats. But the strings on a bass would not make me buy it or not buy it. I would almost always expect to change the strings anyway.
  10. As all twelve notes are available on a bass string then surely any song could be played up and down a single string.
  11. This one would be better value for money.
  12. I don't seek out sunburst but nor is it a deal breaker.
  13. "No, I don't know it, but if you can write it out for me in accurate notation (or tab if you must), I will see if I can play it for you." Keep a supply of staff paper and a black pen in your gigbag in case of this eventuality.
  14. Noow owned by Bob Daisley ... https://bobdaisley.com/gallery/bobs-guitars ... and scroll down
  15. Maybe my recall is inaccurate, it was forty years ago. If it wasn't Columbus, I'd guess at Antoria and I'm not certain it was a Ripper copy not a Grabber. Either way it seemed an OK instrument in those days.
  16. In the early 1980s I briefly had a black defretted Ripper-style copy labelled Columbus, if i remember correctly. It was an OK bass.
  17. Also lefty Fender Jazz in White Album period.
  18. No.
  19. I just ignore signature photos and any too large signatures, There's lots of them
  20. Look to the little x at bottom right of your post ... it's 'ignore signature preferences'
  21. I'm with you now, you meant Luck Be a Lady not Fly me. My misunderstanding.
  22. OK, I Just realised you meant Luck Be A Lady not Fly Me to the Moon. I concur.
  23. Really? I don't recall that.
