  1. I have two (without the switch) and they're way better than any of the other cheap mics I've come across. They're good enough for my ooooohs and ahhhhhs anyway.
  2. No. Cheap cables like that will ruin your sound, you'll need an expensive one to really do your sound justice.
  3. Prodipe TT1. There's a switch version, and it's £35 for a truly fantastic microphone.
  4. What purpose does the buffer serve? And if the b7k is going to be the di then how will you hear the helix?
  5. Tell me about it. Going small was the stupidest thing I've done.
  6. I'm going skiing with my school next March. Despite the fact I've never been skiing or shown any inclination to it seems it was hard to find volunteers to supervise ~300 teenagers on their first overseas trip ever. Any tips? For skiing I mean. The kids I can handle. (Spoiler, he can't)
  7. I went to a party once where Mylene Klass (spelling?) was there. Right. 1x Sansamp RBI or similar popular, bass specific rack preamp 1x line level a/b switcher 2x pa power amps, 1 class ab and 1 class d 2x identical (at least identical models) cabinets Gain match both sides with an rta, put the whole thing (besides the cabs) behind a curtain, walk away, let some fresh people run a double blind test. I suppose even that wouldn't get to the bottom of this though would it? The amps are going to have different filters, the cabs will have had different lives, etc. Close though.
  8. For the record I'd say my GK MB500 and Fusion sounded just as good as my 1001ii. I find it odd that people complain that class D has no ... heft ... (not me) and plenty of people complained that the GB Streamliner was too dark, too thick and too hefty. It's almost like you can voice an amp however you want using the preamp.
  9. This man knows.
  10. I just decided a while ago that I was going to work ~40 hours a week and no more. It wasn't because of bands, it was because of watching people I love get exploited and miss opportunities in their lives, but I can't deny it's been great for my gigging life! There are more jobs than gigs these days. If you're in a job that won't allow gigging but you want to gig, then that seems like it's got a simple solution. You boomers work too hard
  11. I'm interested but far too far away. You're not visiting the wildlings up north any time soon are you?
  12. Ian bought a Shure wireless mic from me and it couldn't have been a better transaction. I'm happy to recommend him to anyone.

Just sold a Shure wireless transmitter to Andy and it couldn't have been more pleasant. Can recommend.
  14. They go on sale every year. About three years ago I bought one in every colour. They're nice bags for the £50 I paid but I think best avoided at £120.
  15. Interesting, where did you see that?
  16. When I did a lot of research about ldc mics about 2 years ago I ended up with the SE Electronics X1S. There might be new players on the scene since then but I do love that mic. It's a small diaphragm, but pretty much on a whim I bought a Purple Electrics PE74. It's great, much nicer than my Rode mtg.
  17. I haven't used the 312 but I have used the two higher in the range, the 712 and 732. I have to say the 712 didn't cut it for me as backline running just bass, so I can't imagine it would work as a whole pa speaker with bass and others. As ever, this is based on my band (and just one venue with this speaker) so ymmv. I can tell you that the 732 we run as pa mains, the qsc k12.2 I use as my bass rig and the yamaha dsr112s we have at school all handle bass guitar at gigging volume quite nicely.
  18. Provisionally sold pending payment.
  19. The transmitter? Yes it comes with a hardly-used battery and the official cable. The mic? No idea! I have a few PMs that have suggested it's missing an adapter or something so until I can get it straightened out then I'm going to say maybe! Feel free to make me an offer on either but fair disclosure, there's quite the queue for the mic already.
  20. Hi Basschat. Quite unexpectedly I've had loads of interest on the mic, including several PMs and a post on this here thread that have suggested the photo doesn't quite contain the whole kit. As I say, I only used it to test it months ago and there may well be another bit that's got lost and separated from the party. Until I can test out it and possibly look in the box o' crap, I'm temporarily putting it on hold. Sorry for the inconvenience but the last thing I want is some poor Basschat brother or sister getting half a thing and paying good money for what may end up being useless.
  21. Hello, two Shure wireless items for sale: both a transmitter and a microphone. First up is a GLXD1 transmitter pack. I bought a full GLXD16 set, then I wanted another transmitter so I bought one. Then I got a whole other set for my other board, leaving me with 3 transmitters and 2 receivers, which is just a little excessive, so up it goes. Immaculate condition with the exception of the little rubber door is a bit loose. But then, anyone who has even caused a breeze by walking past one of these will tell you that they just do that. EDIT: Includes the official jack to ta4f cable and the battery but sadly no box. £120 including postage. --- Next is a Beta 98H microphone. Designed to clip on to an instrument and then go into the above wireless transmitter. These are a little rare to find used and quite expensive. I have never actually used this other than to test as it arrived with my newly-purchased full transmitter/receiver set and I just don't need it. I can confirm it makes my ukulele sounds great through my Helix though. £120 including postage.
  22. Pedalboard battery for sale. It's this Harley Benton one. I've used it for a while under my Pedaltrain Nano to power a small board but I scored a cracking deal on another Cioks so up for sale this goes. It will have had fewer than 10 charge cycles in its life and is in amazing condition aside from the obligatory velcro on the underside. £20 includes postage within the UK. Or you are welcome to pick up from NE40.
