Actually I think there's a small amount of cut in the bass control as well. About 80/20 IIRC. It's a "spirit of the law, letter of the law" thing. The control is actually boost only, but the whole circuit has a lot of bass loss, so you can still use the bass control to cut bass by not boosting as much, My point was just that it doesn't really matter where flat is, I'm still turning the controls until it sounds good.

It's really useful to have a volume control that doesn't affect the tone.

A HX stomp can be had for £400 used, less if you get a bargain. That won't buy you many single pedals these days, especially when you'll also need a board, some patch cables, a power supply... Edit - Stuck in a boring work meeting ("no updates from me thanks") and got to thinking. My small analogue board is a PT Nano and a Cioks Adam, with a Korg Pitchblack, Darkglass VMT and Tech 21 Paradriver. Thomann tells me that's £715 these days, not including the velcro or the patch cables, and admittedly with the current smallest Cioks unit which does look a little better than the Adam. The HX Stomp is £545. It would be cheaper and smaller for me to buy the Stomp, superglue the 3 switches to tuner, overdrive and amp emulation, and never use any of the other blocks. Madness.

I mean, I'm not saying that money is no object, but I've worked hard in my little life and bass amps aren't exactly Lamborghinis. So anyway I don't own a bass combo. Can we have just little context? 😁

Well I am looking forward to hearing more about these, and hopefully there might be a Stomp Stadium or something to follow. I like my QC but there's plenty I miss about the Helix ecosystem and I certainly wouldn't mind going back.

Yeah and I was able to do that when I had the rack helix as the wireless and DI and stuff were also in the rack. I guess the floor units would work for me if I went to a bug-style wireless system instead of the Shure pedal-style. Super minor stuff, as Dood pointed out it's a great time to be a bass player and for me to be quibbling over something so incredibly minor. I just wish the Helix stuff was QC size so it could fit on a sensibly-sized board with a all of the other accoutrements that one simply couldn't possibly gig without like a wireless unit, DI/isolator, usb power socket ... 😁

Shame they are still so big. IME both the Stomp and the HXFX are a little too limited, but the full size ones are too huge to go on a board. I should probably try the Stomp XL...

Ahhhhh, Tom Crusing it? Good idea. Yeah, when there's a band baseline and normal (whatever that normal is) and then just one outlier it can be a problem. I think we've got it down with the posed ones It's the candid ones that cause issues

Urgh I forgot how old everyone is on BC. If you are reading this site via ticker tape then I am 0.000319 leagues (5'9") and our singer is almost 20 hands (6'7").

Last week out was a rare outing for my hard rock band as booked to play a 50th wedding anniversary. I'm not quite sure we were the correct booking but plenty of people danced so whatever. Plagued by some technical issues from the electric kit though, specifically the kick drum trigger. I wouldn't care however we only took the electric kit as we were worried about being too loud, it certainly would have been better with an acoustic kit. Bass: Spector Pulse (G&L L2000 as backup) Rig: Wireless>Quad Cortex plus a QSC wedge beside the drum kit to make some 'stage' sound for us all, especially the electric drummer. Footwear: Black hiking boots. Partly because I hurt my ankle doing some DIY, partly as the load in involved some questionably slippery slopes and mainly because I am a perfectly respectable height but our singer is over 2m tall and I'll take whatever heel I can get.

I bricked my stomp whilst updating so I bought another. I finally got around to selling the old one and that point there was new firmware. I updated it and it worked. Don't give up just yet.

I think I have fewer requirements than most as mine is just for the mixer, no chord sheets or anything. Having said that, I spent £40 on a refurbished Amazon Kindle Fire 10. It works great and I can recommend it for running Mixing Station.

Hi. I haven't resolved it but in fairness I haven't done the due diligence to find out exactly what's wrong, it might be something simple like a loose connection. This thread was spurred on by @Raslee's Corvette that was for sale which came with an extra pair of MEC pickups. I was just looking for an excuse really. I'll take a proper look and update the thread when I get a second.

I liked my Spector Pulse so much that I recently sold my Spector Euro. Whenever I fancied playing a Spector it was always the Pulse and never the Euro. They really are excellent basses. So too was the Euro mind, just that I liked the P/J over the MM. FWIW I paid £500 for my Pulse in the correct ultra violet and I sold my Euro for £750, so there are Spectors out there in your price range.

I was tempted to pile up loads of pedals on top of the qc and take a photo. I mean, fair enough though.

Always been curious about those parametric eqs, specifically that one or the slightly larger one he makes. I'd probably also get the tiny DI he makes too ... How are you finding it? Great pedals but have to ask, what are the connectors/cables? In other news I finally got around to putting my QC on a board. I have been using my Stomp-based board through essentially inertia as everything was already set up, but as I find myself not actually in a band, but depping for 3 bands and rehearsing with a fourth, it's all getting a bit messy. Decided to start from scratch, and now with 267% more buttons!
