  1. Posting in market place wouldn't allow me to add description when using Safari on a macbook. I logged in via chrome and it worked fine.
  2. For sale or trade. A great P Bass, made by The Bass Centre, created in collaboration with Attractions bassist Bruce Thomas. You can read the story of its creation here . It seems to be very well regarded by many people on this forum. I bought this from this site in May 2021 as I was getting back into playing. Including myself it’s had at least three careful owners. It’s a great playing and sounding P Bass, but I’ve hardly played it with since I got a Mustang for Christmas 2021. So I am looking to switch this out for something different. It still has the the flats it arrived with. There are screw holes for an “ash tray” bridge cover, which I took off but still have and will include with the sale. Happy with sale or trade. For trade, I’d consider anything short or medium scale, with cash going in either direction. Top of my wish list would be SS Sterling Sting Ray, G&L Tribute Fallout or Pawn Shop Mustang. Collection or meet-up only (unless it doesn’t sell for a few months). Happy to meet up in South Wales, along the M4. I also have occasional work trips to Bristol, central London and Milton Keynes. I’ve weighed it on bathroom scales and I make it 4.5 kg Price reduced to £295 for collection/meetup. (Although I am now thinking I might keep it after a few goodbye noodles).
  3. I'll be passing PMT Cardiff tomorrow just before they close. Looks like I'll be popping in on my way.
  4. Someone on FB is selling a black 70s American Mustang. They are based in S Wales https://www.facebook.com/groups/116321885064706/permalink/7307835869246569/
  5. Had fun taking my Squire CV Mustang to the local rehearsal studio this weekend.
  6. I’ve purchased 2 sub £400 Basses over the last 12 months since picking up the Bass again. Both of which I love playing and work well with a band in a rehearsal room. A Bass Collection Bruce Thomas Profile P Bass. Second hand on this forum. A Squire CV FSR Mustang.
  7. Very happy with Santa’s delivery this year. I haven’t been able to spend much time with if yet. But so far I love it. The neck and tone are just what I wanted. I may switch the strings to flats in the future. I fancied trying a short scale and the Mustang bass was top of my list. I love the competition stripes and lake placid blue colour of this limited edition and am very happy that they came into stock in time for my Xmas hints to come to fruit. It’s subtly sparkly, which doesn’t come out in the photos.
  8. Anderson’s still have a good deal on the fallout. https://www.andertons.co.uk/g-l-tribute-fallout-short-scale-bass-surf-green
  9. I finally got in a rehearsal room with my new combo yesterday. Played with a drummer and a guitarist (the louder of our two guitarists couldn’t make it). Disclaimer. I’ve recently come back to playing after 22 years. Back then I played a few pub gigs with an 160 watt Peavey TNT combo. No other experience to speak of. I’m super happy with the studio 15. It dealt easily with the situation. I mostly played with the pre gain at around 3 o’clock , volume just before 12 and the volume on my Bruce Thomas profile P Bass about 3/4 It was plenty load enough and sounded fantastic to me and the others. We recorded a couple of tracks onto a zoom multitrack recorder with the amp miked up and a couple of tracks using the zoom’s build in mics in the middle of the room. Listening back today the sound good and the bass sounds clear and the loudest thing in the room. I’m very happy with my bargain purchase.
  10. Hi. Is the Dr Q still available?
  11. I enjoyed KLF and Extreme Noise Terror at the Brits.
  12. My recent foray back in Bass has resulted in me taking delivery of an Ashdown studio 15. After finding a great B stock deal on Andersons. (Apparently the box was tatty). So far it sounds great at low volumes. Given my last gigable combo was a tank like Peavey TNT 160 this thing is crazy light weight. It’s likely to be a few weeks before I get to try it with a band and crank it up.
  13. I’m interested. Will message you
  14. I bought a couple of pedals from Greg. He was super responsive and great to deal with. Pedals arrived the next day very well paclkaged and are exactly as described in the ad.
  15. Interesting. I've had one of these for years and it has the same issue with the fretboard. Although it still plays ok.
  16. I've recently started playing Bass again after about 20 years of only occasional strumming, I was pretty active, if not very talented, for a few years in my late teens and early twenties. My new enthusiasm comes from joining some fellow parents in a rehearsal studio to make a bit of noise. So far we seem to be veering towards something vaguely post punk dubby/funky ramblings. I have been lurking for a few weeks after discovering the Basschat marketplace, where I picked up a Bass Center Bruce Thomas Profile PB, which I and extremely happy with. I've now followed this up by purchasing a couple of pedals. I am finding the conversations here hugely helpful, so thought I would stick my head up and say high before I start asking newbie questions
  17. PM sent. Ashdown Dr. Green Bass verb and Mooer Fog (fuzz) mini pedal
  18. I bought a Bass Centre Bruce Thomas Profile Bass from Pinball. It was great interaction and I am delighted with my new Bass. Strongly recommended
