1. 4 A strings.. that would explain alot! :-D
2. Yes, indeedy. . Tell me more! Just recording today on DB.. turquoise tail end silks, am I still on the developmental set of Polychrome? Sounding great! :-)
3. I just bought some parts from Chris.. talked about them mid-morning Friday, and they were with me in the Saturday post! Grand stuff, Altbest! :-)
4. I'll use a capo on guitar (mostly acoustic) without problem; as said above, for certain things involving open strings it's needed. On bass it confuses the heck out of me.. what's that about? I capoed a 35" scale fretless at '1st fret', which gave the effect of 33" scale for an experiment. I was all over the place! Back to the original question.. each to their own.
5. I'll take the Hipshot String retainer (2 string) and the 3 x rosewood control knobs, please! PM'd
6. When I worked in a music shop we sold a few D-18V standards, which were all stupendous guitars. An Adirondack top.. well, I can only imagine this will be even more dynamic! GLWTS, as they say round these parts.
7. The word 'latency' does rather spring to mind.
8. I can't imagine this hanging around for long, especially at the price. Fusion 550 is a seriously rocking head.. take it from one who knows! :-)
9. I make a hole in the side of the lid, cut the straw down to half length and leave it permanently installed in the spray head. Just poke the stub of straw through the hole to replace the lid. Works a treat! WD40 isn't meant for electronic contact cleaning, and longer term will lead to worse burning on the contacts. Servisol all the way for pots!
10. Excellent! Well done for sticking it out.
11. This sounds more like the frets aren't lifting out of the slots, rather they're just sticking out a little bit. If you run your finger along the edge of the fingerboard it's a bit like a saw, right? If so, it's just that the wood has shrunk slightly, leaving the fret ends prominent. An easy job for any decent repair shop, then it most likely won't trouble you ever again.
12. I can't actually get to the cupboard, but pretty sure it's still in there!
13. Just sold this to a mate who was visiting.. watch out for another similar! :-)
14. IIRC the Jaguar is short scale anyway, but not 24 fret, so you might ideally need to learn how to use a router or get someone to do the neck pocket. All part of the rich learning process of life.
15. [s]f*** me sideways [/s] I mean wow! Over forty quid, then some postage if applicable! Just what is somebody hoping to receive?
16. Does the fretted version have the right fingerboard wood for your fretless taste? If yes, defretted. If no, make lines. IMHO
17. Brilliant! I'd best not show this to one guy I play with.. he'd so suit one but he's skint.
18.
So what was it before its little accident? The headstock looks familiar but I can't place it.
Makes me think of AXL or Johnson.
19. Hmm, if the wires 'fell off' the P pickup, could be further problems there. As WIB says, meter time!
