  1. The position and angle looked very much scarf joint to me. If the fretboard was taken off and the neck is a clean break it'd glue back and be very strong, with appropriate glue and clamping. The reattached FB would further reinforce it.
  2. Kind of looks like it's broken the scarf joint, I'd say perfectly repairable, the fretboard would need to come off first etc etc.. I'd want to buy the thing very very cheap to start with if I was taking it on
  3. She turned up on lots of backing vocals of the period as I recall, she had various issues with record Co's, Stiff records certainly, which did her no favours and stalled her own efforts somewhat... her boyfriend was Steve Lillywhite who got her a whole bunch of backing singer work etc I believe.
  4. Never knew this stuff existed, absolutely brilliant 👍
  5. Neat neat neat.. Top choice. I saw the original Damned a few times when Sensible was still the bass player 😁
  6. What Illier Kuryakin? the man from Uncle's mate... You'll be trying to claim your £5 next....
  7. Still makes you go blind though, must be some of that hooch we mentioned a while back
  8. Ahh, You're in the Masons then.... 🤫
  9. Been drinking those methylated spirits again then?
  10. Absolutely Bagster 👍 But I can help him nevertheless.. It's very simple, get a bass with frets like they're supposed to .. Doh
  11. I was looking at loopers, The Donner Circle had lots of positive reviews, worth checking out...
  12. Another update... Had email saying that aparrently the courier pick up is arranged for next Monday, lets see if they show up!
  13. I'm sure none of those "box shifter" online places open the boxes and look at whatever's inside...
  14. I've seen a few SX basses and thought they looked really decent, with much potential 👍
  15. The example I gave was back in the day, when London was like a different world compared to now. The buildings that were derelict squats are now posh zillion £$ sites... I have to confess I preferred it the first way myself..
  16. ^This has always been my default stance.. As for a good gig, v. simple really.. Everyone plays their part without any (obvious) cockups.. the sound of the whole band is good.. the audience is suitably entertained.. the band gets paid without any argy-bargey.. oh, and I get to go home with a hot girl who's at least 25 years younger than me 😁
  17. Well just to contribute an update, I had an email which to my surprise said something to the effect of.. "confirm which day you'd like collection, and confirm coll. address, email and mobile no." So on the face of it they seem to be intending to collect it without argument. Obviously as a confirmed cynic I'll believe it when it's gone and I've got the dosh back in PP. We'll see.
  18. You wait till you get your WadShok® that'll make his eyes water..
  19. When we played the Rock Garden it was easy, we were living in a squat about 3 mins walk from there 😁
