1. I've only had this great pedal for 4 weeks. If it's so good then why am I selling it you may well ask? Because I love it, it's turned me on to Strymon so much I wanted to buy Mike's (SK8's) Strymon Orbit flanger too. Then I thought, heck just get a Strymon Mobius and I've gone down that very route. The Mobius covers both the Ola and the Orbit and much more besides so I'm selling the Ola for what it cost me, £150. That's about 1/2 new price. No box but I'll print off the instructions. In near perfect condition. Delivered to the UK for free or try in Kendal Peter
2. If anyone is ever in Morecambe pop into Promenade Music and ask for Gary. A great selection of basses and a welcome assured. Peter
3. This post had me tempted but I realise I'm more than happy with my LMII and LM Tube 500. In fact it just reinforced how good they are so thank you.
4. So it nose dives, the A string buzzes and it's heavy. Remind me why I don't own a Fender. All the best with it though
5. There's some interesting stuff coming out in here.
6.
Sorry, no. I'd never heard of him, and now having had a listen to a couple of his songs I know why. Not my kind of thing in the slightest.
I just wondered, with you being a Nottingham musician. Not everyone's cuppa for sure. Sunhouse 'Crazy on the Weekend' is one of my favourite albums but my taste in music is pretty wide:)
7. That is lovely. Interest in Bogart basses (5 string unfortunately) most definitely registered. Peter
8. Some good suggestions. A little fantasy does no harm BigRed, I'm a Gavin Clark fan, do you know the fella? Peter
9. I was listening to some Tool today and I thought to myself, if I could swap places with any bassist it would be Justin Chancellor. The tone, the riffs and the music! Okay it's a fantasy and this 62 year old average bass player knows that. So, no 'clever' answers please. If you think it's pointless keep away, one word, a band present or past. TOOL
10. I'd like to add that the B string on my 34" scale Finn stands head and shoulders above any B string that I've ever played. It's like playing a normal E string almost. I put it down to the rigidity in Alan's neck construction as that is the only unknown in the string tension equation. Peter
11. I'm well chuffed for you
12. I'm old enough that Eva Gardner evokes memories of another non bass playing female
13. Interesting to see no love for relic'd basses so far. I've never seen the point but they are popular. I always think that buckle rash is a fail myself. But each to their own.
14. Nicely done. Is that a 33" scale? Some damn fine basses owned by ead.
15. The Mustang isn't unique with the pickup switch issue. The Yamaha BB2024 I sold to Chris (Beedster) had a duff switch and I tried one in a shop recently and that was the same, and that's a £2k+ bass. Easily sorted though. Peter
16.
I thought I had made the initial post fairly clear as I asked about 4 specific stores based on price and availability. And most requests for advice are usually about information useful to the person who is asking for the advice. Maybe that's not the Basschat way! Thanks for the warm welcome.
Seriously, welcome I don't think you'd been quite so clear about why other retailers weren't to be considered but, hey ho.
17.
So this isn't something to provide useful thoughts and information to us all? It's just for you? Ok, nothing to see here then. I've probably ordered from them all with no problems to be an adult and make a choice.
I posted a comment along similar lines but deleted it as too contentious (my comment was more so). The OP needs to be clear what he's asking in his opening post. Gear 4 Music have always been great. I've not used Bax or DV247. GAK have lukewarm and inconsistent customer service imo.
18. Lovely!
19. The cheapest I could find my recent purchase was Andertons. So far they've been great at keeping me updated (awaiting stock - I was fully aware).
20. Hi and welcome Dimitris. You're in good company, Prince Philip and St George! Peter
21.
its neither. its designed to be clipped to a guitar strap and therefore has to be battery powered. i was tempted but im waiting for the New Sadowsky preamp https://sadowsky.com...2-preamp-pedal/ available in Spring. Is it spring yet?
I'm pretty sure it's the same as one I owned some time ago. I wouldn't say it's designed to be worn on a belt, more belt capable if you are that way inclined. Maybe the pre DI Sadowsky pre I owned was different? It was a fair while ago. It was a useful tone tool for a Jazz bass. Peter

23.
It's not a pedal tho. If it were it wouldn't be for sale anymore...
I must have misread the ad, I thought it was outboard not onboard.
24. I see that there's a Sadowsky pre just gone up for sale.....
