    Just an observation, the body shape at the bottom is very ACG Harlot i.e. very nice indeed. I find my Harlot fits in a stand fine, just a little off centre, or better still a neck hanging stand. Interesting form/function, ascetic/ergonomic conundrum Peter

    I wasn't totally awestruck by the RKS site photo but the bass in the flesh is something quite different. Mine is a Sym Bass with the symmetrical horns and it does balence too. I have some detail shots I'll post. Mine also has the translucent finish and the inside of the cutaway is satin, a nice touch. What is there to say? Very high quality of construction (US made) with a 3 piece neck thru neck with tiny wings that are even replicated in the headstock. There is an alloy 'resonance block' at the end of the headstock and the tuners are US Ultralites. The board is ebony and the strings can be mounted thru body. The bass is passive vol/tone and the control are neat and have a weighty smoothness that is delightful. The tone for a passive bass is really good, very punchy with reasonable tonal variation. The string spacing is generous and slightly adjustable via the Hipshot chromed brass bridge. The neck is very flat which I like on a wider board. Marmite? Here's some detail pics. Peter

    I think Ti in this application is just a 'fashion victim'. Great for some uses though. I've got a bike frame custom made from some. Doesn't rust either.

    Thank you for the kind comments. The only problem I have with the bass (as well as having too many) is that my big hands are a bit clumsy at the far end of the neck. If anyone has an interesting trade I would consider it. This really is a superb bass that oozes quality and tone. So bumparooo Peter

    No it's dark grey. It might seem a strange colour scheme but it works, quite classy.

    I'm looking to sell my Les Evans 4 string. The bass was made for a customer (not me) by this Liverpudlian Luthier. It has a beautifully sculpted body with very high quality Schaller hardware including an adjustable bridge. The neck width at the nut is 1 3/8". It's active with a John East U-Retro that has bass, treble and sweepable mids. There are switches for active/passive blend and a bright setting. Pickups are Kent Armstrong. The neck definately has some wenge in it and is a 7 laminate with a 6 bolt fixing. The finish as you can see is a dark grey that with the gold hardware looks remarkably classy in an understated way. There are no 'dings' in the finish and only slight marking on the rear of the bass. Here's some photo's: If memory serves correctly I paid a little over £600 for this bass (it was a part trade deal) but given the present market I'm looking for £450 plus delivery. It comes with a well padded gig bag and a Levi leather strap complete with matching straplocks. If you're near you're welcome to try it out/collect. Peter

    Hiya Edd how are you? I have a superb bass that has J style pickups but a very svelte body shape and a neck slightly thinner than a Jazz. It was made as a custom bass by a luthier in Liverpool. It even has an adjustable bridge. It's fitted with a John East U-Retro with active/passive balance, bright switch and sweepable mids. If you are interested pm me. I can get some photos done.
