haha, perhaps it was as I've just kept adding stuff to it over the years! should have backed it up somewhere else really but, oh well.
 2. i seem to have lost all of the information that was on my profile? not a big deal -- just a list (to myself) of all the gear i fancied, would be nice to get it back though other than that, looks great!
 3.
Will do. I assume I need cables for this. Are you suggesting the line out of my DI? or the line out the back of the head that goes into the cab? I guess I would need a 3pin female DI jack to 1/4" jack lead, then a 1/4" jack to 3.5mm jack connector?
I would take the DI out of the head, definitely not the speaker output. Yes, that cable should work, just make sure it's a mono (unbalanced) jack at the end.

 5.
120w should be way too low. It's not, trust me
that is a seriously nice little rig!
 6.
The longer the scale the higher the fundamental to harmonic ratio in the waveform. A string doesn't reach its full potential for fundamental output until it's 1/4 wavelength long. At 30 Hz that's 9 feet, so you'd need one really big bass to create a strong 30 Hz tone.
Err, that's not quite how it works. A string always oscillates at its fundamental frequency, with a harmonic series superimposed on top of that -- the ratio of harmonics to fundamental, and to each other, depends entirely upon the excitation point and any additional boundary conditions other than the end points. The ratio of harmonics does not, however, depend upon length. The fundamental frequency of the string is mostly a function of the tension, mass per unit length, total length and boundary conditions. The wave speed on this string will thus be a function of the tension and mass per unit length, and has nothing whatsoever to do with the speed of sound in air.

 8.
Thanks mate :-) I tried to record a sample using my Warwick through it last night. I'm preparing a little piece for you all, and was just testing it out how it sounded played back on record. The piece for certain needs some ironing out and more practice, but the sound is rubbish (recorded through my crappy little in-built laptop mic), it's auto-distorted and sounds terrible. I need a smart way to record, can I make use of the amp DI or my sansamp and somehow plug them into the little 3.5mm microphone jack on my laptop and use that as an input? Without exploding my laptop/sound card ideally? The little piece you are on about also made me have to look in the brochure. It's the fan filter, which I assume is a very smart way of preventing the amp innards getting dust on them due to the fan drawing air through. I assume the little lip at the bottom is there so you can take it out for cleaning once in a while. 3 band eq is seriously all you need though, even the activeness on my basses is becoming largely unnecessary.
There is a way to connect a line input directly to the soundcard -- in fact, usually just connecting it straight in with a mono jack will work. You may need to go to control panel --> sound and turn the gain down however, else it might distort beyond all reason lol. There are also some reasons why it might not work, so if you can't get it working let me know.
 9.
But how about headphones with attached mic - I just cant plug them into mixer's/audio interface's Input, see.. So they're not gonna work in this case, right?
The headset likely requires a 5V polarisation voltage for the little electret mic capsule, which your pro soundcard can't provide (not a fault, they're just not designed to work with them). Might work if you use a regular mic maybe?
 10.
It would - one stereo signal means one (say your microphone) is left and the other is right. They have independent recording levels (think of it as a very simple 2 channel mixer). I believe my E-MU 0202 can also make it a single mono feed, mixing the two together (although how it appears to the computer is a stereo signal where the left and right are identical)
Skype won't see two inputs, and it won't let you adjust the gain independently. The only way to do this is if there is hardware control of the gain on each channel (as you've got on your 0202), or possibly if you go Control Panel --> Sounds and adjust the balance of the input recording device. That's not to say it won't work ok though. If the 0202 is like the 0404 the 'mono' button only affects the direct monitoring.
 11.
Not really sure, what software do you mean? Laimis
Skype sees the sound cards inputs as one single input -- this may be the first input, or the windows driver and/or Skype may sum all inputs uniformly into one. If it only sees the first input, then you will need an external mixer. It might work without that though, have you tried it?
 12. It sounds to me like the jack socket itself it dirty, loose, or both -- sometimes happens with age. Is it an open back jack socket inside? Sometimes you can just bend the connector bits back into shape, and whilst you're at it give them a bit of a clean.
 13.
Maybe I'm missing something, but Skype sees soundcard as one unit, so I can't why it wouldn't recognize two signals coming from USB audio interface?
Many professional soundcards will really only work properly when used with their associated ASIO drivers, even though they all support playback through the usual Windows methods. Skype can't interface with ASIO, so it will be interfacing usin MME or WDM or something along those lines (basically just through windows), but it means that it might not see multiple inputs as separate. It may mix the multiple inputs automatically in software, I don't know. Have you tried it yet?

 15.
I am going to change all the caps in the Power Amp section as a thank you to my friend and a passport to borrow it again whenever I need it. You Bass Guys are so cool you have the best Musicians Web site going. I wish there was a Guitar Chat for Guitarists like me.
Well, you are always welcome here! (even if you play guitar) Another good thing to check on these old HH amps is the low-voltage supply rails -- they're often listed in the schematics as being +/-15 or +/-16 volts, but are sometimes closer to +/-18. This can be right on the limit for the 741 variants that are in there, so it's a good idea to drop these down to +/-15 volts -- there is no disadvantage and the op-amps should (in theory) last longer. If they're already at 15 or 16 volts though, they'll be fine, no need to change them -- have worked on a few HH amps, but not an IC100 yet, so am unsure about the specifics of this particular model.
