  1. Thanks for the reply. Yes I'll be using a cab. Wouldn't your suggestion put the cab sim back into the amp and then to the cab? This is what I'm trying to avoid. If the Cab sim had a "thru" I guess that could go back to the amp... Good point.. πŸ‘
  2. No sure where to post this so I'll start here. The question is in the title. Can I? I know the DI level is lower, but its also different resistance so I not sure if that'll effect the sound at all. Long story is I want to run my Ashdown ABM DI out into a cab sim, which is instrument level input..
  3. I'm sure the output acts as a classic unaffected "thru" in this setup, doesn't it?
  4. Those all tube heads should sell at that price. Says they have 10+ in stock... Matching 8x10 also available....πŸ‘Œ
  5. I kinda preferred the Ampeg in the blind test but not much in it. Question from me is, does the Origin send Cab Sim to the DI and the amp output, or just the DI. A lot of pre amps do this and it annoys me a bit. The Ampeg only sends Cab Sim to the DI and the headphones, which is a much better setup to me...
  6. ☝️ Same but North East... 🀣
  7. always loved this song. Great minimalist bass line.
  8. what do you guys think? The neck is great, but the string / pole line up is quite a bit out..
  9. Hi. Is this a standard Fender spacing? Would it fit a Squire CV Jaguar bass?
  10. surely its 8 Ohms given it has a large number 8 sticker on the side of it?
  11. 460 mile round trip!! 🀣 Big fan of the band and that is a great looking bass....
  12. Searched and found only one passing reference to it. I just bought one without even hearing it, so was wondering if anyone has owned/used/heard this pedal? cheers https://www.markbass.it/product/bass-tube-marker/
  13. Just checked inside the cab and the speakers ain't Ashdown at all. They're Eminence Beta 10b. They still have blue cones so I'm guessing they're standard issue with the cab..
  14. I've not used the Ashdown comp, but what your asking of a cheap compressor is probably too much. If the volume difference between the two is significant without compression, you'll struggle to get a sound your happy with due to the sheer amount of work being done by the compressor. For this task, the built in single knob approach will never work. you need either a very good compressor that has attack, release gain make up at least, or simply switch between 2 pre amp setting depending on which ( fingers or pick ) you're using.. If you wanted to compress both styles equally this would need to be done after the pre amp volume correction ( FX loop for example )
  15. Unplug your bass. If it’s still there it’s the amp. If it disappears it’s the bass. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
  16. Nice one. Yeah I just picked up a 500w. ABM210. πŸ‘
  17. Has anyone ever come across an ABM cab with updated speakers? Still Ashdown Blueline but 250w per 10” speaker instead of the standard 150w..
  18. Yeah this is my thought process, but how much power it would take to damage a 600w 8 ohm cab is beyond me. All I know is it sounded great in November, now it sounds bad.. I'll investigate and update. I can get a multi-meter and test the drivers individually so I'll see what it looks like.
  19. what about the new EHX Big Muff that has a digital output for recording? 2 birds one stone..πŸ‘
  20. anyone have experience with blown speakers in an ABM4x10 cab? Long story short, I used mine for the first time in a few months last night and it sounded like $h1t. Farting is the best word I can find to describe it. I suspect someone else has "Borrowed" it while it’s been in storage at the practice room. I emailed Ashdown this morning but thought I'd ask here too. Is there a way to tell without taking the cab to pieces? I'm thinking measuring the resistance or something like that? cheers
  21. Sorry yeah I meant of the clone. The original sounds great....πŸ‘
  22. Looks great..How does it sound? Any demo's??
  23. That looks absolutely killer!
  24. First time back after more than 10 years.. Love that Ashdown sound..
  25. That's beautiful. Pretty much what I'm after but way to far to drive.
