  1. surely its 8 Ohms given it has a large number 8 sticker on the side of it?
  2. 460 mile round trip!! 🤣 Big fan of the band and that is a great looking bass....
  3. Searched and found only one passing reference to it. I just bought one without even hearing it, so was wondering if anyone has owned/used/heard this pedal? cheers https://www.markbass.it/product/bass-tube-marker/
  4. Just checked inside the cab and the speakers ain't Ashdown at all. They're Eminence Beta 10b. They still have blue cones so I'm guessing they're standard issue with the cab..
  5. I've not used the Ashdown comp, but what your asking of a cheap compressor is probably too much. If the volume difference between the two is significant without compression, you'll struggle to get a sound your happy with due to the sheer amount of work being done by the compressor. For this task, the built in single knob approach will never work. you need either a very good compressor that has attack, release gain make up at least, or simply switch between 2 pre amp setting depending on which ( fingers or pick ) you're using.. If you wanted to compress both styles equally this would need to be done after the pre amp volume correction ( FX loop for example )
  6. Unplug your bass. If it’s still there it’s the amp. If it disappears it’s the bass. 🤷‍♂️
  7. Nice one. Yeah I just picked up a 500w. ABM210. 👍
  8. Has anyone ever come across an ABM cab with updated speakers? Still Ashdown Blueline but 250w per 10” speaker instead of the standard 150w..
  9. Yeah this is my thought process, but how much power it would take to damage a 600w 8 ohm cab is beyond me. All I know is it sounded great in November, now it sounds bad.. I'll investigate and update. I can get a multi-meter and test the drivers individually so I'll see what it looks like.
  10. what about the new EHX Big Muff that has a digital output for recording? 2 birds one stone..👍
  11. anyone have experience with blown speakers in an ABM4x10 cab? Long story short, I used mine for the first time in a few months last night and it sounded like $h1t. Farting is the best word I can find to describe it. I suspect someone else has "Borrowed" it while it’s been in storage at the practice room. I emailed Ashdown this morning but thought I'd ask here too. Is there a way to tell without taking the cab to pieces? I'm thinking measuring the resistance or something like that? cheers
  12. Sorry yeah I meant of the clone. The original sounds great....👍
  13. Looks great..How does it sound? Any demo's??
  14. That looks absolutely killer!
  15. First time back after more than 10 years.. Love that Ashdown sound..
  16. That's beautiful. Pretty much what I'm after but way to far to drive.
  17. No worries. Got a message from the man himself confirming it’s an early Adam Black bass. 👍
  18. Does anyone know this brand? Thought it might be Adam Black but I can't find any reference to him making a bass with just "Black" on the headstock.. cheers
  19. Hi. Thanks for the replies.. Reasoning.. firstly, I want to install a "kill switch" as i often use this on another bass I have. I realise I could do this with my current set up, but removing a tone/vol pot would free up space. A single volume pot would give me the option to bring volume up and down in a live situation ( think effects wise, not just for stage level ) which cant be done with a pair of volume pots. I could get a foot volume pedal, but I would still like a kill switch so thought this might be a viable option.
  20. I never use the tone pot. its just always on full. I never blend my pickups. They're both on full all the time. So, can I just take my current setup ( CV Jag bass with 2 stacked tone / volume pots ) and just have both pickups wired to a single stacked tone / volume pot? Or, even better, just a volume. ( I realise that might be problematic as the tone pot does filter even when on full ) Any thoughts?
  21. That's how I'd run it..
  22. The HPF goes before the Compressor no? If you have Subsonic information you're trying to get rid of, that's going to hit the compressor and effect what it does. Surely its best to remove that first, leaving the compressor to work on the signal you actually want to hear.
  23. When you say its fantastic, is that before or after the MOD..
