Who is Steelers Wheel's bassist? Because that Stuck in the Middle bassline is a bit like a 2nd vocal line while still functional as bass. That's the kind of bassline I like. Macca is good at that too.

EUB typically has a strong low end output. You may want to cut some lows as a premeditated move before tailoring the rest.

Ashdown can't go around their own distributor. Why so much firepower for something that never has to be heard with drums and guitars and assorted noisy bastards? I can appreciate not wanting to be ripped off by a monopoly distributor. Maybe something smaller and less exotic would suit and you would get ripped off less? Traynor make some good stuff. It's pretty exotic if you call yourself a North American.

If you found basschatuk with a search engine you can surely find Sweetwater selling HL115 bass cabinets, or you're pulling my leg. The replacement speakers aren't listed but you must be able to order one for a new cab model.

Actually it has been measured to be quite scooped but the mid control is bang in the middle of the scoop so it's very unscoopable. I forget the settings for flat but probably a little bass and treble cut and a little mid boost to level it out.

I have read a few accounts of people stripping carpet off cabs for tolex. They are all woeful tales. I don't think anyone does it more than once. And yeah, paint over the carpet would be a job for a skip once done methinks! Maybe if you belt sanded the carpet first... Yeah, nah. Give it a haircut and call it good.

I looked it up and Canada is 'only' about 40x the size of UK so something is amiss in the analysis.

It's easier if I square everything down. It's probably even more accurate as roads tend to grid up on big spaces. So UK is three squares worth = 10 hours. A 5% chunk of Canada is a square block of 36 squares, the centre point in that chunk is 3 squares from the edge. x 20 = 100% = 720 squares. Holy moly.

Doing rough maths, in other words 5% is within 10hrs of some other bit, most of it is surrounded by the rest so ignore the coast and border, but GB is strung out, it's complicated! 10hrs north south GB is the diameter of a 5% circle drawn on Canada, if most of it is accessible by some kind of road. Big doesn't cover it.

Take the sensitivity of the cab and add 21dB and you won't be far off. Everyone plays with 'loud' guitarists and drummers. Some are seriously louder than others so it is very hard to nail down. Ime 200w and 4 ohm worth of big cabinet is pretty darn loud enough for a pub when it's a simple PA and a single sub giving the kick a boost. Some people will say no way they can get by without at least 500w. Others swear and declare their 30w amp keeps up with their loud drummer and guitarist. I would say if you need to turn up a vintage Trace 250 to '4' with green input LED and a 4 ohm cab you would be shy on grunt with an Elf. I used to crank it to '4' with a single 15 cab but with two cabs if I get to '3' I am indulging my inner hooligan. Elf is supposedly honestly rated for RMS output of a everyday bass signal, so it isn't much short of power compared to SMX 250. I don't know if it can do big whomp transients like a SMX can. When they say 500w peak on that puppy they mean it.

Dude, drop the 'tude if you want help. All advice has been given in good faith so far but don't expect that to continue much longer at this rate.... Your amp pushes 300w into two 8 ohm cabinets so dividing by two gets you 150w per cab. If you only took the 15 it would have been getting something like 180w but you never mentioned that case so never mind. It's not on the forum to shop for you but I see the Hydrive series got another reboot as the Hydrive HL115. So try one of their spare drivers. Should be fairly easy to order. I have told you what you need to do so over to you to find it. Sweetwater are helpful folks, try them and for forgiveness sake drop the 'tude. Substitute a few less letters into that f word. They might even help you to change ports on your cab to match the new model. I see Hartke have kept the same external size all through so should be a doddle.

I am amazed none of the singers I have worked with have had their teeth broken in that scenario. Even a raised stage is no guarantee. The better places recognise the hazard and have a corral fence across the front. Monitors are overkill and the PA is simply stage right and stage left angled across for double duty. The 200w of the Ant is plenty to rock the house, best left back on the cab. My cab is a beverage free zone. Anything there after the first warning is disappeared so even drummers quickly learn.

Firstly are you using earplugs to save going deaf? If it's just a monitor you really should be able to hear it either way. Makes me think you are all pretty damn loud and not using earplugs. Next order is get something to tip it so it points up at you. You might be able to turn down instead if earplugs are installed first.

This. If the 150w of pure Trace grunt blew it once it will blow it again. OP may not realise there are precious few North Americans on this forum. Odds of anyone here in his immediate four State neighborhood knowing where there is a good reconing shop for him, very slim. I am not sure he has even done a battery test. Instead relied on 'I know I connected it up right when I did the job'?

Beer has it's own way of hurtling sideways, so I refer you both to the great and almighty authority that is beer. I am merely beer's humble emissary. If your pedal board does not hang around with beer then you have no fear. This product may well be the duck's nuts for you. Since many pedal boards do hang out with beer and the vents are not obvious at first glance I think it's a valid point to raise.

It's a hard road to satisfy bassists. Give them what they want and they complain it isn't what they want. Fan cooling means not at all water resistant. At least most pedals stand a pretty good chance of being ok in an accident involving a drunk and a jug of beer. If you watch the promo vid they are all about the touring and quiet stage folk. It sure does cover a lot of tasks in a small package. If you aren't concerned about roaming drunk jugs of beer it's a good shout as a 'pedalboard amp'.

Down on a pedal board is no place for an amp, especially one that is fan cooled. There are plenty of amps that you can plug a pedal board output into and take the DI out from the amp. Nobody mainstream builds a power block because there is no money in it. They are out there but not certified for hooking up to the grid.

Your cab has been superceded. There are no reconing kits on offer. Option 1. Put the new model 15 in and either hope for the best and retune the cabinet as required or do some of your own research on that. Option 2. Find a reconing shop and ask them if they have or can source the original driver reconing kit out of some secret stash. Best be nice about it. You keep using the word fix. Ain't no fixing unless it is a simple separation of the dust cap or small tear at the surround of the cone that mates cone to the frame. You ruled those out already. So it requires a recone or binning. I already explained the recone process a little but sing out if you need more info. You saw the film Snatch? Analogous to 'fixing' a busted up driver.
