  1. Not the size as Barefaced will happily explain, it's the design, the build, and probably the materials. Never found a Fender cab that got anything close to the sound I want from bass, amps yes, cabs no, guitar yes, bass no
  2. This was kinda the point to my early post on the subject - Brad and Chad's conversation about spare boxes at Corona - the first thing that worried me about it was that it looks like a standard Fender guitar combo (OK, so do quite a few of their bass models), and I've never played a unit of those proportions that sounded even vaguely like a decent bass amp. The marketing team will always make the demo sound amazing, but in a room it's a different story
  3. Sorry that after that hassle this is how it arrived though 😕
  4. Why I always wait a while with new to market gear, at least it arrive stinky poo so no hassles on return, it’s when the stinky poo starts at 6-months it gets messy
  5. Really wanting to nail this track 👍
  6. Wow, I never realised that the double neck could be pull apart like that, that has really got me thinking about what I could do with some guitar and bass bitsas i have lying around here 🤔
  7. I always get the sense that with Yamaha, unlike Fender, their attitude to reissues would be "Why, the instruments we are designing and building now are better than the instruments we were designing and building 20 years ago" (a bit like Mesa compared with Ampeg I'd guess, don't see many Mesa RIs). Guess I was proved wrong by @AndyTravis there, but to me Yamaha just don't feel like a reissue brand?
  8. A very big part of me wants to keep this, but the part of me that need to get some cash to get my rehearsal space/studio built this summer (and which also needs to free up some space while I do it), is currently winning
  9. Hope it works out for you mate 👍
  10. They'll show one in stock, and might have one in stock, but..........
  11. That stinks, and happens far too often, usually after you've paid as well. I'm pretty sure they'll be popping up in the used market way before then 🤔
  12. Am I being naive in suggesting that this is exactly why you have a mixing engineer, to correct for tracked levels using their skills with gain, EQ, compression etc?
  13. Bought the Thomann thingy @Jakester, thanks for the heads up. Often wonder why patch bays are so deep given that in theory they only need to be the depth of an XLR, at worse an XLR adapter?
  14. So did the recording engineer or the mixing engineer remove your track? None of this sounds, to use your words 'fair enough', unless there's other factors. OK, if a producer was given carte blanche by the band to produce tghe best possible version of a recording that's one thing, but an engineer removing and replacing a part played by one of the musicians is quite a step without prior agreement, especially if you're paying for the master?
  15. This is still available 👍
  16. I understand from John East that these can run off a battery with a little bit of soldering allied to some basic electrical nous 👍
  17. Here we go..... @reggieboomboom could you provide precise dimensions for the heel, I have a body that might suit this neck very nicely Cheers Chris @Owen what were the chances eh
  18. I had the same thing happen with, bizarrely, the same model of bass @Clarky, AVRI. Bought it on here, it played fine with lightish strings, sold it on here, buyer installed some La Bellas and off went the action, not to return no matter what. The truss rod didn't break, just appeared to be on strike. It went to a luthier IIRC and some form of dark art was performed bringing it back to it's former glory. Lesson learned, stay away from high tension strings on skinny necked basses. As to your integrity and honesty old chap, never in doubt 👍
  19. The sort of part that rather than attaching to a bass you already have makes you want to buy it and then buy the rest of the parts! Beautiful piece of bass architecture there
  20. I think i have the solution, I knew I'd seen this somewhere.....
  21. That's what I'd do, in part because I'd love the drive, the bass would be the excuse 👍
