  1. I'm glad this thread had been bumped. To answer the OP's prehistoric question: 14 weeks, 4 days and counting 🥴
  2. When I was 15, this album was as heavy as I went, and I much preferred the fast shouty songs like this one to the g̶r̶o̶w̶l̶y̶ ̶s̶l̶u̶d̶g̶e̶y̶ ̶s̶t̶u̶f̶f̶ ̶w̶h̶o̶s̶e̶ ̶c̶o̶r̶r̶e̶c̶t̶ ̶t̶a̶x̶o̶l̶o̶g̶y̶ ̶m̶o̶m̶e̶n̶t̶a̶r̶i̶l̶y̶ ̶e̶s̶c̶a̶p̶e̶s̶ ̶m̶e̶ proto-grindcore tracks
  3. Imagine how wonderful it would be to be a teenager in 1965 and hearing this and finding it thrilling heavy and dangerous
  4. I thought this was held to be the common root of all Thrash?
  5. Was never tempted by the M- or L-2000: really the decision was simply between the SB-1 and the SB-2, with the Kiloton's rich wholesome tone confusing the issue for a while.
  6. The first couple of minutes of this Kiloton demo made it very hard for me to decide which G&L to order - it seems to make a beautifully balanced tone - deep but clear. (I did wonder how much help the amp and cab were giving, mind)
  7. Very droll. Here's some rather more useful ones:
  8. If you were to choose the orange 414 would that indicate that not just one but both the recent 424s were superfluous? 😇
  9. I've been more than happy since my 424 arrived at the start of January, but since I'm limbering to the possibility that my G&L has been lost, somehow, I treated it to a visit to the tech for a well-earned once over. Just got a text from him: "....I've finished the setup on your bass this week. No issues, and a much lower action...." That's got the weekend off to a very good start 😊 I've been having to play the noodle-thin TRBX this week and my hand is missing that chunky x24 neck. Which seems counterintuitive, but there we are.
  10. By "weirdo" I had hoped to see mention of D-F#-Bb-D-F#. One day.....
  11. I'm impressed by this bass's ability to get so many pearls firmly clutched 😇
  12. The specs for the TRBX range, if anyone else apart from me finds such things endlessly fascinating
  13. One of the two colour options for the American Original 60s Precision currently available is LPB + tort. Yes, yours looks much nicer
  14. It was also the week after Christmas iirc? The internet has told me that Bruce D didn't intend it to be a Maiden song but Steve Harris begged for it.
  15. Make the switch go from the P pickup in a passive circuit with a tone control to the Humbucker in the existing active circuit, with just a master volume.....
  16. I decided that the slopes of the split pick up must be confusing my eye.... ....but perhaps not....
  17. Photo pinched from a TB thread
  18. Are we back to giving you metallic greens to tempt you with? I thought purple had been declared the winner
  19. The bassline to Walking On The Moon is pretty crucial, if not anything especially exciting in itself.
  20. I'll be sure not to post anything non-Dog+Duck in future
  21. This three piece doesn't seem to be leaving many gaps in the sound
