  1. Luxury! We had our whole family, aunts, uncles, distant relatives living in a wah-wah pedal…
  2. I like to use my gigging amp when running through gig music. Other times, it’s just the bass, which is really easy to hear unplugged. I find I can hear different things this way.
  3. Isn’t that the same stage as was used for the Euro semi?
  4. I’d love to get a pentabuzz, but don’t play enough fretless to justify it. It’s hard to explain, but Pedulla just keep getting better the more you play them
  5. Totally agree about getting a fretless that sounds different than your fretted bass
  6. In lol my years of playing, I’ve never seen this attitude of “you can’t tell me what to do” help a band get better.
  7. Let’s see…since 1973 Basses cheap semi-hollow body 68 fretless P Gibson RD Artist Electra MPC Outlaw 63 jazz Mexican P currently own… Pedulla MPV 5 Spector Spectracore 5 lined fretless Amps Casino 12 Yamaha 100 1x15 Musicman head/Bullfrog 1x18 currently own… Hartke kickback 12 Fender Dual Showman w/ 4x12
  8. I would ask, “why not?”…oh, I forgot about folks ready to be disturbed/offended at every turn. Lighten up and let the rest of us have some harmless fun…please!
  9. I really appreciate your response. Back in the 70’s - 90’s, it seemed that everyone was using 1,2 or4 15 cabs. Most I knew used single 15’s. Then the trand moved to multiple smaller speaker cabs, which it seems lots of folks still use. I would love to compare single vs multi speaker cabs in gigging situations..
  10. This one has switchable speaker resistance, But the original cab is 4 ohms
  11. Okay, thanks….wondering then why so many of us use 4x10 or 4x12 cabs…I’ve always used a single 15, or, at one point, an 18.
  12. I did, and understand the concept. It seems that the most profound instances of comb filter effects are found using multiple cabs. I also understand that 4 speakers placed in the same cab also can show effects of comb filtering. My question regarded the specific effects unique to this cab.
  13. I guess I don’t know enough about this to understand your point. Specifically, how does this Fender rig produce more of a comb filtering effect than other 4x whatever cabs? I’ve always used single speaker rigs before.
  14. I’m going to try using a Fender Dual Showman with the 4x12 cab. Heavy, but could produce an amazing tone for classic rock. I’ll report after using it.
  15. I’ve taught school music for 41 years, play pretty much all the wind instruments, and my preferred type of music is Western swing, but I am really enjoying playing with the group of guys in the rock band. I would not mind doing pit work or big band jazz either.
  16. Yup, and I can’t figure out how to edit it!
  17. I still disagree. Maybe it’s a generational thing, but the whole “tell us what you are looking for so we can hover and sell it to you” thing just does not work for me. Another comment about getting tired of people coming by unannounced also really puts me off. As I said earlier, I have been in a lot of high end music stores, and have never encountered this “we are just too posh to have anybody just walk in, and btw, you could be a thief” attitude. Not my cup of tea.
  18. Still sounds vague…..more arguments and helpful suggestions!
  19. This is probably just idle curiosity, as playing in a function band does not sound like my idea on big fun, but… I keep seeing dep ads that refer to “standard function tunes”. Being relatively new to the customs here, and only having pub band experience, does this mean there are a specific list of tunes? If so, what are they (just in case)?
  20. Small world…I grew up in Imperial…an hour west. I’ll be back in that part of the world soon…looking forward to it!
