2.
I was the previous owner of this bass, and I can confirm everything CJ put in his post - it's a belter with a fantastic preamp.

Has this bass got a Jackson-style headstock (pointy)? If so, I owned this bass for a while, and it's an amazing bass.

Ditto, if pointy head, was probably mine too!
Can I be the first to say that I 'haven't' owned this bass! A lot of bass for not a huge wedge of money.
 3.
there's 2 threads, this one and one that seems fresher saying it might go for 2300, that's why i ask
Ahhh! I hadn't seen the other thread.
 4.
so is this 71'r still on for sale or what?? and is the price now at the level it should???
It sold on eBay didn't it?
 5. MM basses are notorious for high/hot output, I'd imagine you'd need to reduce the input gain on the amp to match it to your bass.
 6.
Look at the first 2 on the other thread and just been asked about a vintage j4 waiting to hear if its a NY one. Keep the offers rolling guys, Thanks
Nope, you've got me there! I can see that 'bubinga5 owns an RV5 (I assume that is one of the offers) but I'm not quite sure who the others are...?
 7.
"had 3 offers for Sadowskys so far, and all metros."
Please name names as I've so far only found one available on the whole forum and that was some time ago!
 8.
That would be the new "sterling my musicman" line. It's not a USA musicman, it's their new line that's been outsourced to korea or something. Basically the replacement for OLP but more on par with the SUB basses. Apparently they're meant to be very nice basses, but i wouldn't pay that much for something made in korea. Also that's the stingray model
I'm not 'O'Fay' (crap french for 'dinna understand') the full range of MM basses but I did PM the seller a couple questions re. the bass for sale and in particular can he supply images of the actual bass for sale (I noticed the major discrepancy with the title and pics), we'll see what he comes back with!
 9. Can't imagine you'd find one much cheaper used 2nd hand! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/STERLING-BY-MUSIC-MA...93%3A9|294%3A50
 10.
PM Sent.
Oooops missed that!
 11. Is it destined to stay with me then?
 12.
'thats the 2nd sadowsky i have been offered in ten mins!'
'If' you get offered a 4 string Sadowsky that you need to move on (heaven forbid ) then I am in the market for one!
 13. I've known John the co-owner from way back in the 'Rock City' days and it'd be a cryin' shame if they have gone t*ts up!
 14.
Nice Carvin B4 HERE frankly, I could see this going for 5 or 6 hundred bucks at the end of the day.
I take it you do mean $ Dollars and not £ Sterling? If you were UK based buying it, then @ £500-£600 would end up being closer to £850 (shipping, duty etc.) and I can't see that happening in a month of Sundays... no matter how good the bass is! Even if $600/approx £400, it would still be a £650/£700 bass to import.
 15. The bass in the OP reminds me of the (IIRC) Gibson RD bass... weren't they pants as well? Only joking Gibbo owners.
 16. Now that's what I call minimalist: Gain/Bass/Treble Excellent.
 17.
So is the type of garage a woman has, some kind of vajajay waving exercise?
Been so long that I reckon that Mrs WH may well have bricked her garage door up!
 18. I haven't read the other 114 posts but I've no doubt someone has said the Squier 'Classic Vibe' Jazz but I'll add my praise to that, especially the neck.
 19. I've checked out the weights of a LOT of basses of late and if I were offered an 8lb bass I would consider it light... period! 9lb - 10lb appears to be quite average and anything over 10lb I'd consider getting heavy, when you hit 12lb you are REALLY into the big boys.
 20. Crikey Moses! Someone will be getting a bargain and I'd be surprised to find that these aren't already spoken for by now.
 21.
It really is weird folks think Ws are heavy. I suppose my vettes $$ feels pretty heavy when you pick her up, but strap that baby on and you won't feel it. It is a perfectly balanced instrument and a three hour rehearsal NEVER troubles my 9.5 stone wendy house frame. I NEVER get back or shoulder ache at all, and I can fling her about on stage like a rag doll.
I'm glad you picked that up Silddx, as I was going to let it slip so that I didn't sound like a broken record! Even the heaviest Warwick I have ever owned (solid birds eye maple body) was under 10lb and most have been between 9lb - 9.5lb (and I've owned a few by the way). The dreaded black hole bass commonly referred to as the Thumb bass is still unlikely to tip much over 9.5lb, heavy for its size but no worse than a lot of Fenders and Fender wannabes. In my quest to reacquaint myself with my love for the Jazz tone, I've purchased 4 Jazz or Jazz style basses and 'every' single one is heavier than my 3 main Warwicks! Believe me, Warwicks are no better or worse than 99% of other manufacturers of standard sized/scale basses. There are exceptions to every rule and yes a Bubinga Corvette may be a bit heavier than an Ibanez SR bass or whatever but you can draw that comparison between virtually any two basses. Phew... however I don't think this is the last we shall hear of the dreaded 'Heavy' Warwick theory!
 22.
Yep, me in the end. Seen 'em go cheaper occasionally, but seen 'em go for more too, the cheapest price in the UK seems to be £620 from Peter Cook's without a case, so I reckon that's a good price.
Have you got an offer from eBay/PayPal of 10% off your purchase price when you pay via PayPal?
 23.
Maybe but all I said was that 1lb is very small in weight, as is 2lb so I stand by what I said. Have you tried a 4" or 4 1/2" strap? That'll make everything in weight un noticable. I don't have a great back either and until using that width strap found my BTB's to be too heavy but they are heavy. But my other basses are hardly noticable...maybe it's a shape / counter balance thing? Being neck heavy is more noticable than body heavy to me.
A reply from another 'walking wounded'! Weight/Mass is not negated by having a wider strap... period. It may not impact on a particular area of the shoulder or back but when the issue is 'weight', a wider strap does nothing, neither does a perfectly balanced bass! As for 1lb or 2lb being a small weight. Agreed... if we are comparing the weight of a pair of elephants. However when an instrument weighs 8lb and you talk about slinging a 10lb bass around your neck you are talking about 25% more weight. Hardly a small increase and very pertinent to bass selection. Sorry but the weight thing appears to be sidetracking the thread so back on task. Warwick/Status Buzzard - Pterodactyl
 24. I love the fact that they are selling a bass and didn't even know that it had midi capability!
 25. A simple question really... other than Owen and I, are there any other Bolin owners on Basschat?
