Just got myself a new pre amp for my Warwick. I've been quoted £25 from my local music shop to fit it. I have no idea whether this is a good price or a terrible price... Some opinions would be good Not too sure if this is the right section...
Can you clarify what they are actually going to fit and into what, with what (i.e. power amp etc)! If it's a pre into a rack with a poweramp then I reckon a 'local' regular on here with a bit of nouse could do it for you for nowt... I would if you live my way!

If you use the search facility there are loads of past threads on this very subject but imho (dependent upon line-up and type of amp used by other members) 250+w is a good workable size. -
Even after the LED work and having it chromed i bet it still came out much cheaper than a warwick streamer CT, which I imagine is what inspired him to do it
Absolutely... well maybe! However, the CT Streamer will retain a reasonable amount of its value whereas a Spector Legend with LEDs and an after-market paint job is still just a Spector Legend. Do you see where I'm coming from and I'm not trying to compare Warwick with Spector just the reality check that 'sometimes' what you do to a bass after you buy it can have little impact on its later value.

Hats off to GuitarGuitar; ordered mine yesterday lunchtime and the delivery driver called me today to say he was at my place trying to deliver, did I want these leaving somewhere or with a neighbour etc! Nice touch to see that it comes supplied with a battery.
Yes siree, Twas me!!!!
Nice one Neil. I was in communication with the guy trying to ascertain the weight of the bass but you obviously nipped in before he got that sorted. Just out of interest, when you get it would you mind sussing the weight as I'm trying to get a reference for what these CV P basses weigh. -

So did a BCer get it? -
I'm not knocking Spector or that bass but the owner must have been off his t*ts when he decided to have that done! Each to his own I know but for what he must have paid to have it chromed and LED'd, the cost of the work on what is essentially a mid-level bass will never get recouped.
I'll put it on the scale when i get home and report.

I've just weighed mine on the bathroom scales it is comes out at 8.8lbs, so it's about that.
Cheers lads.

Can I ask a favour? Those folks who own one of these CV P basses; what is the weight of your bass? I know that they are going to be somewhere between 8 - 10lb but I wondered what the actual 'average' weight was coming in at. Likely going to have to buy one blind so it gives an indication as to what to expect. Cheers

Good spot. That's a good saving on new so won't last long! -
Nah that's either one for the JC boys or it's a custom build as it seems to have elements of a few basses! HOWEVER... thanks for the heads up on the JB Trio as that is new music to me and I enjoyed that. Cheers!
Ooops it would seem I've not linked that particular photo through! That's a job for the morning! Yeah according to my watch list there's quite a lot of interest on the bay, I'm in reality giving the bloody thing away but needs must and I have to buy a 5 string!! Got my eyes on a super jazz or Dingwall combustion! Hope the bass goes to a good home though I really do!
If the gravest of your worries is a 'good home' there's always room at Chateau Hunt! I wouldn't worry, one of our Euro cousins will take advantage of the depleted £. -
The times they are a changing... FB being openly discussed on BC, what next... politicians having an open debate on TV?

If they are pretty 'average' tension they might work for me.
They are certainly not heavy going, I'd say they are at least 'average' tension if not less; actually quite close to...
Thomastic Jazz Rounds. HOW MUCH?!?!?!?! but I have had a set on for 3 years now and they still give up their mellow goodness.
My second favourite nickel string is the Thomastik 'Alloys', they were very reasonably priced from Thomann when the £ v Euro was stronger but bordering on silly money at the minute. -
Lakland Joe Osbourn - How Much!!!!!!
warwickhunt replied to bassatnight's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Hmmm that I can live with but it's one thing to get the wrong member of the family who inspired this Lakland (after all Jason is a renowned bassist in his own right) BUT... to spell the name Warwick, 'Warrick' now that is unforgivable!
