1. Is this new rig of yours 300w into the ext cab Chris or is that 300w into the internal 8ohm? Only just happened upon this but I'd have been interested in it and I'm sure the 300w is just a perception thing but I've now gotten used to the headroom that 500w amps give you!
2. I doubt I'll ever be able to find a better condition 'vintage' Warwick again (or one that is as light) but as I only own a couple of others, both of which I've had for 15 - 20 years, I guess this is the obvious choice to trade (along with the Stingray). If you need specific details I'll try and help you out but basically if you know your old Warwicks then you know the low-down on this. Cherry body, 1 piece bridge, Wenge neck with Cherry (possibly Maple depending on who you believe) stringers, Ebony fingerboard with side dots where the frets 'should' be, EMG pups and it weighs approx 8.5lb. All original and everything is clean and ding/dint free with just the odd tiny mark which I'd never be able to capture with the camera. Comes either with the original very earliest Warwick gigbag OR a generic hardcase (your choice) and a set of straplocks to attach to your strap. I don't want to clutter the thread with images but if you want a specific shot just let me know and I'll PM or email them to you. I'd be interested in any of the following and cash can go either way (all fretted and 4 string!) Musicman Sterling pref sun/amberburst or Buttercream but not LPB/DK red. A 'lightweight' P or J bass (doesn't have to be fender) - the closer to 8lb the better... not common I realise but not unheard of. This could be a one of the new Roadworns, HW1 (sad I know but I like the relic look), CV Squier or a genuine vintage(ish) bass. Again, my preferred colour scheme is 'burst/tort/rosewood. A Roscoe - never had one but I'm always interested in the esoteric. A Lakland DJ - I realise it's a HUGE ask to find a light one of these but you never know. No LPB basses. A Warwick - Streamer preferably but defo not a Thumb. Lastly - anything that is a bit different but I must stress 'lightweight' only but no cricket bat basses. NOTE - Please be aware that I've been disappointed in the past by sellers claims that a bass is "lighter than any other bass I've owned" etc. if you are interested in trading I want accurate weights! Sorry to be a pain in the backside about my weight demands but I have a recurring shoulder injury and I've now got to accept that however much I love a bass; 9lb is a 'maximum' weight.
3. I've now owned both the CS and Mono strap and I'd go for the Mono due to the 'boing' factor of the CS. One point of note if you use strap locks; the Mono strap has very secure thick plastic terminating points on the strap and fitting 'some' strap locks onto these is tricky... not impossible but not as easy as some. That point is moot if you have regular pins in which case this very feature means that these ends are defo a positive. Wide leather straps are available from loads of places Levy's etc. but you could also get your local leather-worker to make you one to your spec/length and you're supporting a tradesman/craftsman. For you (Newcastle) I believe there's a guy in Blackfriars, he made me a good strap years ago but to cut costs I had it just one fixed length, hence it only really worked with that particular bass that I had at the time.
4.
Is that 640, or 640 * 1.15 * 1.175 = 816? S.P.
Yep as you say £800+ but still cheap for a 'new' LX... however the buyers of the Rockbasses are gonna be saddened but it was up to the bidders to check what they were!
5. Not sure how desperate you are but you can PM Florin the Warwick Forum Mod as he may well be able to help you as he is a Wick employee! I can send you his email if you don't want to register on the Warwick forum.
6. Mate of mine is still stuck out in Australia due to the recent travel disruptions and isn't due back till mid May! 3 tickets; Block R Seats L1/2/3 He wants back the face value of the tickets (inc booking fee) = £50 per ticket. Possible he may well sell the tickets individually before they go on eBay, so worth a shout if you want a couple/one. SOLD
7.
There's a blue Sterling for sale on Belfast Gumtree. He's asking £700 which seems reasonable to me? I'm just posting this because I know they're hard to find. Regard this as a free bump if you're not interested. Frank.
Cheers Frank, unfortunately blue/lpb is 'probably' my least favourite colour (the very pale blue of the CV Squier I like) on any bass... and every Sterling I've seen of late has been blue!
8.
Guys...... don't make me send this to Ebay !! Cos if it's not sold by Wednesday that's where it's going....... Offers entertained for collection Mark
Can't believe you didn't think to bring it along today!
9.
saw one of these in the flesh the other day, im very impressed with the idea and other cleverness to it, just wish they'd built in it a better case, wasnt too crazy about the switch either.. would be awesome if they made a more rugged "pro" version or something.

They're actually pretty sturdy. The switch seems no different to any other switch on any other pedal.
I've got to say that I agree with bartelby that the casing feels as solid as a solid thing and the switch is pretty robust and solid!
10. Sorry I was completely distracted by the fact that Spiderman was dancing perfectly in time to the track!
11. I'm biased but I'd say look at the Aggie 1x12 cabs. Doubled up the DB112s make a formidable noise. Even though I use a Thunderfunk and rate it very highly you're unlikely to find one around so I would suggest matching the Aggie cabs with the 500w Aggie head. However, it has to be said for that kind of budget most of us could go on to list a whole host of alternatives and any one would probably be a stonker! Good luck in your quest, it should be fun.
12. In true BC style... 'if only it had been in a different colour/short I'd have had this straight off you!'
13.
http://my.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?MyEb...me=STRK:ME:LNLK Last day on the bay. Gotta be shifted because I am relocating the US in a few weeks!
Dodgy link mate... takes me to my eBay home page! Here's your listing - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/EBS-TD650-Bass-Head-...=item27b117503f
14. PM Howie 'the bass doc', he should be able to sort that for you... not sure of cost but a PM will give you a yay or nay!
15.
It looks like it spent a week on the wall in your shop, Uncle H.
BC quote of the decade for those that knew Howie's place!
16. I've wondered whether a wet wipe would actually take away the 'patina' or if, as the seller suggests, it is actually the finish that has reacted and it is now fixed this colour. Oddly enough I quite like the colour though I am adverse to Fender basses that are a natural finish. I do think it is staggering to imagine that it is actually white!
17. Now that's attention to detail... the guy even wears matching strides when he's working on a bass!
18.
Hmmm, even more debatable is the fact that he had done a buy it now on an auction for £350 about an hour before it was re-listed (the auction which you won) and I bought it, he had said that as he was new to e-bay that he didn't have a clue what to do as I hadn't paid for it instantly and so re-listed.Probably realised that I may have the steal of the century Have paid by paypal so hopefully this will turn up shortly, and will let you know if it all goes pete tong..is it just a caae of reporting to e-bay and paypal if I have been scammed? Cheers Dave
So you've 'also' won it and HAVE paid via paypal... but this was done after the OP had already offered the seller £500 which he declined! I'd not be expecting the bass to turn up if that is the case.
19.
I could always sell it to you cheap on the basis that I can borrow it back
Shades of Squier CV Jazz rearing it's head!
20. With the smoking ban firmly in place we may never again see this kind of mojo on a bass... http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=644365
21. I REALLY hope someone buys this before tomorrow afternoon; I hate coming away from your place with more than I bargained for... and less in my bank account!
22.
Not yet...I've not got a hard case/shipping carton etc. Maybe later if its still around.. thanks BB
If you don't want to register on the Wick forum, just give me a shout.
23. Do you want this linked to the Warwick forum sale section? If you're prepared to courier to Europe the strong Euro makes this a good price for a European sale!
