1. 2 questions! 1) Why should the Bongo headstock suffer damage/knocks/dings more than any other 'headed' bass... or is that just a fallacy? 2) Are the Bongo range naturally a bit weighty (i.e. none below 9lb)?
2. 20-25 years ago (keep me right Howie) I had our very own 'Bass Doc' create me a Jazz style bass (1 piece black walnut body), which had a single pup (really x2 Jazz pups side-by-side a la MM) and a single control... volume. I loved the simplicity and uniqueness of it but after a short time I found that it wouldn't do everything I needed so I had him fit another single Jazz pup in the neck position and added a pan pot and tone control! It was a damn sight cheaper for me to do that than it would for you to mod an already expensive CS bass. Think long and hard before going the Fender CS route.
3.
Love the headstock design too - it reminds me of the NS Design EUBs :-) Beautiful instrument!
Well spotted! The Bolin 'NS' Bass was indeed designed by non-other than Mr Steinberger himself. What you don't see in the design are some of the subtleties, such as; the body is thicker in the centre than the edges, the neck is bolted on in such a way that the bolts go in at angles to pull the neck in tighter to the body, the bass has an arm that swings out to bring the upper 'horn' closer to the 12th fret balance point and a few others that I tend to take for granted.
4. I'm in the minority I suppose! I love many of the Warwick (or Spector inspired ) shapes but I'd not thank you for the Thumb SC... HOWEVER; my main gigging bass of the last 3 years has been a SC. Oh and it balances perfectly and clocks in at not much more than 8lb in weight.
5.
Hmmm... The seller is based in Sherman Oaks. Is this the gnomes-in-the-attic guy again?
Hmmmm, I thought as much looking at the pics, description... and price!
6.
Well it's certainly mostly there in respect of the parts which won't be seen.
I'm still trying to figure out what kind of fcukwit sands off the finish whilst the bridge and scratchplate are still in place!
7. Is it? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vintage-1964-Fender-...=item20b019c6f5

9. Removed the link as a mate is after this bass.... sorry. Hope those that saw it will have the decency to let him have a pop at it.
10. I'd keep the 5 if I were you... and sell the 4 to me!
11.
You must be lucky,I've never known any who actually carry gear, unless they are in the band.
VERY lucky! My wife (technically a promoted girlfriend) wraps gear up and carries gear at any gig she attends... in fact she could set-up/strip down my gear no problem.
12.
There's a way to make more space...... The girlfriend has no need to be there
Sorry got to disagree. A girlfriend (yours or otherwise) is far more useful than a guitard... at least a girlfriend would help carry the gear!

14. Fender Musicmaster... is it not? <edit> I should add 'wtf do I know as it certainly doesn't have a W on the headstock'!
15.
Seems to have sold for £30,000 ...
... and back up AGAIN for £43,000!
16. Does this mean that I get to see 'you' gig before you see me gig?
17. With bated breath I had hoped this would be 'YELLOW'... alas no! Always wanted to try one of these. Good luck with the sale.
18. ... and again! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1964-Fender-Jazz-bas...=item3efdf60ff3
19. I'll be knocking on ya door this weekend!
20. Neck is slimmer Body is smaller Switch for series/parallel on Sterling Dummy coil in the Sterling pup IRC they also have different preamps ... so that's virtually everything!
21.
Hate to have to do this but as I'm not doing any music projects for a while, and am moving out soon, I need to get some funds sorted so up for sale is my complete Warwick rig. That's: Warwick Hellborg Pre Amp Warwick Hellborg Mono 500 Power Amp Warwick WCA 811 Cab UPGRADED with Celestion NTR10-2520 speakers - Standard Warwick 8x10 upgraded to a 2000W beast! Would prefer to sell the Pre and Power amps together - if there's enough interest I'll consider selling them seperately. The Pre & Power come in a shockmounted w/foam 6U flightcase. Will also throw in a Furman power conditioner and Korg rack tuner for a bit extra. The cab is also cased up in a custom "live in" style flightcase. Will get some pictures up at the weekend. All are in excellent condition, all have been toured with and have had nothing but positive feedback on the tone I have got from this rig. If anyone is seriously interested please message me with any price offers. Will ship within UK only - shouldn't be too much on carriage as I'll send on one of my work lorries/carriers. Thanks for looking Ray
I may as well break the bad news... you have to list prices for stuff you have for sale, you can't invite offers no more. Them's the rules of the management mate!
22. During my usual meanderings I came across these - http://www.kennysmusic.co.uk/backline/bass...ss-cabinet.html http://www.kennysmusic.co.uk/backline/bass...et-ex-demo.html A Hartke 2x15XL cab brand new in a shop for £199 or 8x10XL @ £449... got to be worth that to a fellow BCer! Just send me a bottle of Aussie Chardonnay in the post if you do decide to buy it.
23.
I seem to be getting into trouble wherever I go... Ive just got a hard time from the guy on the warwick site... and he deleted my thread...
Strange! I can still access your sale thread over on the Warwick forum. I've never known Florin over on the Wick forum deleted threads without good cause, so that is very odd.
24. I 'think' that what Bob is trying to do is ensure that the price stated £650 isn't the starting price for people effectively bidding up an item. I'm sure that isn't the case here, nor is Bob saying that you can't offer less but there have been instances of late where people state a price then start asking potential buyers to PM them offers greater than the price stated on the thread... it has happened to me very recently!
25. When will sellers learn to use one font, one size and limited chuffin colour... at least it wasn't all oversized, capitals and underlined!
