Aguilar GS112 NT for sale

If you want one, it needs to be top notch and you want it NOW, then I'd get one ordered (to your requirements) from Dave (OBBM). However, if you've got time to gather the cables, connectors soldering kit etc and do your own, then that can be satisfying; though the initial outlay is expensive. Alternatively watch on here or eBay for folks selling 'as new' (don't buy really old cast-offs from other people, it's a false economy) quality cables such as the likes of Spectraflex.

For sale PRS Bass EB IV Vintage 'burst
warwickhunt replied to warwickhunt's topic in Basses For Sale
Ah, that explains it: I was wondering what bass you were holding in the Stateside Preachers poster - I could tell it wasn't a W or a Zon!
For a second there you had me wondering how the heck someone from Wales had seen one of my band's posters advertising a gig in the North east of England (didn't think that it could be via friends in Talgarth, Wales)... then I remembered I'd used it on a thread on BC! However that does leave me with a dilemma; if I trade the bass will people viewing the poster expect me to be playing a PRS? -
Out of interest was this the one in the Bass Centre a few years ago, used to be Rhino Edwards (Status Quo's)?
I've no idea mate, it'd be nice if it had some 'Pro' provenance; not many of these about but I'd have no way of checking.
Is it just that it's closer to the camera... or is it that much bigger than the P? Looks huge! Either way, I've only got the nearly-10-pound blue Stingray-sized SUB on offer at the moment, so I can't help you out here, John.
No the PRS isn't that much bigger than the P bass, it's just the camera angle/illusion. As for your 10lb large-bodied blue Stingray... just how wrong for me could one bass be! -

No fancy inlays or exotic woods but a stonking great bass! There may be some contention over the body wood as the grain etc. seems to indicate Swamp Ash but the PRS basses of this period were generally Alder. The neck is quarter sawn maple with a maple fingerboard cap and pearloid inlays. Controls are Vol/Vol/Tone with an active/passive switch. The bass is presently set up with round-wounds and a very low action. Comes complete with the original PRS case with preformed internal foam and the various hang-tags and tools. A few small marks but nothing major or through the finish (not even any worming), very good/excellent for an 8yr old bass. I'm only interested in fretted 4 string basses; any bass offered would need to be under 9lb in weight and ideally have a small(ish) body with cash adjustment either way depending upon your bass. I wouldn't dismiss any bass out of hand but I'm not overly keen on the colour blue... sorry! To clarify the 'small body' stipulation; I consider that a Stingray has a large(ish) body but a Sterling doesn't and I'm not really interested in cricket bat style basses.

+1 re the extra packaging (don't forget that cycle shops literally throw away the bast packaging you can get for basses in flightcases). My most expensive purchase on eBay (a very rare Ltd Ed Warwick which is my 'go to grave' bass) was sent to me in the skinniest/flimsiest gigbag (a black bin bag offered as much protection) that was placed between a folded over sheet of cardboard and then taped down one edge, top and bottom... I kid you not! Even though it miraculously came out of the packaging OK I went ballistic with the seller.
Any ideas on how to clean it off?
Turn all dials to max and hit the lowest note that you have... that should shift any loose dust/dirt/mud! Alternatively if your vacuum cleaner has a variable power setting (or an adjustable hole in the vacuum tube) set it to low (open) and with the brush adapter fitted lightly brush the cone; test it on something like your sofa first just so that you gauge the power of the vacuum.

In the house I use a Tech 21 Trademark 60 GUITAR combo. I find the settings on the combos clean channel are great for bass and the 12" speaker handles everything up to moderate 'house' volumes (the wife/kids/neighbours start complaining WAY before the driver does). The good thing with this is that it is relatively small (especially front-back) and it has a great DI for recording added to which if you do home recording then it instantly hits the spot for your guitar duties. Don't close your eyes to some alternative ideas, especially if it is unlikely to be required for full on gigging.

If I want to run 2 8ohm cabs through a 500watt head
warwickhunt replied to RickIronWitch's topic in Amps and Cabs
As has been said by all of the above, you're quite safe... just use your ears! As an aside (and it is alluded to above) has anyone ever run their 300/400/500w amp flat out... EVER? Even 30 years ago when 150w(ish) was the solid state norm (as opposed to the more recent 500w) for bassists, I rarely ran my amp anywhere near flat out. Just sayin'! -
Have you seriously got 4 basses (one of which is a Ray and two are Big Al's) on order and you're still not sure about Sterling V Bongo...! 2010 EB MM Stingray 4 H 3 Band EQ in White/White plate w/rosewood board (on order!) 2010 EBMM Big Al 5 SSS in Vintage Sunburst/Vintage White Pearloid Plate w/rosewood board (on order!) 2010 EBMM Big Al 4 SSS in White/Tort plate w/rosewood board (on order!) 2010 EBMM Sterling 5 HS in Tobacco Burst/Black Plate w/rosewood board (on order!)
Hi all, I've got a Euphonic Audio NL-210 arriving in the post tomorrow - anybody have good experiences with these? I won't put down my reasons why it appealed to me just yet, but what I will say is I've been looking around for quite some time and I'm really looking forward to giving it a blast Thanks for reading!
A true GAS posting... ask opinions AFTER you've bought it! Been there and done that; probably about to do it again!

'70 - 73 Jazz? I'm almost convinced...
warwickhunt replied to Bassassin's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Has the back of the neck been sanded/cleaned up? It looks like typical age related 'crud' is tucked in near the tuner plates but the neck n headstock look silky white. Speaking of silky white... how much for the Mrs. Michael? I've worn mine out carrying gear and I could do with a new one! -
A friend of mine is working on a set of IEM buds at the moment - his company is called Minerva Hearing Protection, you should check them out as their prices are very competitive and they offer the same specs as ACS and Ultimate.
Only problem is getting the impression/mold done! I got the ACS ones through Specsavers, mainly because they were local and easy to access; if there were alternatives that were as easy to access then I may have used them. I went for the ER15's in the end and they are more than good enough for filtering all but the silliest loud bands... no in fact they will do even the loudest because I believe that at the kind of volumes where these plugs aren't effective then everyone else without earplugs will be in pain and potentially deaf!

Ashington... genuinely the R&R capital of the North East of England! This is the first proper gig for my 'new' band. I say 'new' but we've been rehearsing ages and everyone in the band is FAR from new as we are all seasoned gigging musicians. We are a six piece outfit doing a southern rock type vibe covering artists like; Springsteen, Eagles, Skynyrd, Jackson Brown, Bob Seger, Doobies....etc and even a bit of new country with the the likes of the Warren Brothers, Travis Tritt diversifying into a bit of Frankie Miller (distinctly not American) and Hot House Flowers. If you happen to be at a loose end on Friday 29th and live locally come along and listen/watch a band enjoy themselves. Stateside Preachers are endorsed by 'Lumberjacks R us'

Still haven't gotten to see your band... bout time I heard a Gibbo through fat too many speakers; so I'll have to see when you are on in this neck of the woods. Oh and gets some better pics mate! -
Any EQ other than; bass mid and treble... if an amps designed correctly that's all you need (says than man with 4 bands of semi-parametric EQ on his amp that NEVER get used)!

I realise that the response will be that the amps are esoteric, high end bits of kit that will have point to point wiring done by hand etc but by crickey that's a lot of money to anyone and the cabs in particular; they are essentially bog standard cabs... phew!
!! .. very interesting bass (and one I've not even heard of before!) - looks like a Salvador Dali take on a Marleaux with hints of Jens Ritter. Considering a trade/PM ... is there some history of the bass(es) / builder on the website?
Blimey it must be rare if you've not heard of one Dave!

You've written yourself a very nice review! I doubt you'll get many folks on this forum sharing their views on this equipment as most of us will never have heard of it let alone seen or played through it. What sort of cost (£sterling) are we talking about to acquire a rig like yours; it 'looks' very appealing.
Where does McEwan's Strong sit in the mix? That's the first beer that made me sit up and say woah!
McEwans... good old Geordie ale but you are going back some ways! Brown Ale (Bottles of Dog) is a (ahem) step up from McEwans; though I still rate a 'good' pint of McEwans Scotch as one of the finest pints of beer.
