Now if @police squad were to join a Rush tribute and play a Steinberger stick bass... hmmmm! -
U2 tribute band needs new bassist, a question for you all

Yep, P bass on 80% of everything I've watched; the odd J bass or something esoteric from the 80's period. I just happened to notice a Streamer bass on one live gig so I thought I'd see how it sounded in a rehearsal and it (Stage I on the P pup solo) popped the P bass on steroids tone and the rest of the band immediately said 'Play that one!'. Aesthetically, a purist INXS fan (likely also a bassist) might think a Warwick is not the 'right' bass but he dicked around with lots of other stuff (just like A Clayton really). I suppose it has to look AND sound right. -

Parallels... Since joining an INXS tribute, I've been rehearsing with a P bass (used a lot by Garry GB) but after seeing an INXS promo with him playing a Warwick Streamer I decided to take mine along. The lads all unanimously agreed it actually nailed the bass tone better than the P bass (despite trying to EQ the P bass to match). As a result I may end up using a style of bass in a tribute that the bassist may only have used for one album or tour! -
I have some of their little pedals and they are pretty good. This size multi-effects for £60ish is a no brainer if you want a little pedal for rehearsal/practice.

I have no science behind it but I'm broadly 20Hz higher than each of those. <edit> In fact I think I have the main outputs passed at about 70-80Hz... I'll check later.

88... 1988 the best year for a Warwick Streamer (IMHO).

It's probably just me but I'm not a big fan of loads of guitar changes, regardless of whether the original band/frontman would have talked for a minute or 3 between every song... Bono's handclapping speech et al. I drop tune my bass to D for 5 songs in my INXS tribute but all of those songs are grouped together to avoid unnecessary pauses/delays. Tbh once you've done it a dozen times, you can drop and retune in seconds... virtually don't even need to use a tuner. -
Several issues could be my lack of experience with Tonex but tbh I dived straight into the TC software/hardware tone editing in the Plethora with very little need to search tutorials. The crashing and reinstalling of software etc is squarely down to Tonex. Without @bnt's guidance on what/how to disable various things to utilise the pedal as an interface when adjusting presets, I'd have put the pedal out of the window. It was infuriating that it wasn't described in a basic guide.

Bolin! -
Nothing is intuitive, I had to reinstall twice (in 3 hours), I had to reload models/presets 'purchase' (even though they were free with the pedal) each time I restarted the pedal, I also had to scour tutorials to suss that you couldn't listen to adjustments 'live'. You have to play through an alternative interface or if using the pedal you need to bypass the pedal, disable direct monitoring AND enable a setting in the app... none of which is explained in any lit from Tonex; thankfully helpful people like @bnt et al have been through this and helped.

What is the guitarist doing? I'm fairly sure I'd be negotiating to do one tuning or the other! -
Nothing is worth that hassle! TBH I've come to the conclusion that a good analogue preamp is pretty much all I need if I'm going to be sending the signal to a PA or FOH. Speaker IRs, captures etc are all just variations of EQ... so just EQ the bass tone and be done! I wanted to be able to have a good preamp tone with a few effects added for individual songs, all in 1 pedal but it's no big deal if I have a preamp pedal and a good effects pedal; 2 pedals isn't exactly a hassle. Plus I have my IEM transmitter on my pedalboard, so long as they all fit I'm happy.

Ridiculous/Ludicrous system. I decided that as I had a better grasp of this and I wanted to practice what I had learned that I'd apply it to some presets for my acoustic guitar... having none of it and it has asked me to reinstall the Tonex set up! <edit> The software has now crashed 3 times while I've been browsing; laptop is barely 12 months old so not ancient.
-
Irritating to say the least that when I went back through the settings for a 3rd or 4th time it suddenly had the tonex option in the drop down! I changed zero while cycling through the options but it changed any way! Lets see how we get on now!

That made sense. However, I can't adjust these final settings!
-
Doing it on my laptop and I've followed tutorials but can I heck as like get it to change any parameter, despite me dragging dials to their extreme!
