Yes, I can and do dance while playing. In my punk/new-wave covers band I move and dance a lot. The other guys are rooted to the spot - they are happy to let me get on with it. For me one of the advantages of using an amp sim pedal instaed of an amp is more room to dance. Dancing not up to stanard of Bruno Mars band though! Story? Nearest I've got is: a couple of people from work came to a gig ..... one of them said that my stage performance reminded her of when her son fogets to take his hyperactivity medicine!

Xvive XU2 for me..... I've been using a couple of years with no issues. They are reasonable price (about £100), plug straight into the Guitar and amp/pedal (no need for a belt-pack or whatever) and both transmitter and receiver are re-chargable, so no batteries and no need to run a mains lead. I don't know what the latency is, but I don't notice it.

I enjoyed the program for the history, context and technical notes....... but a little more playing of the Hurdy Gurdy would have been good.

I hardly ever sell stuff. I only buy a limited amount of gear, so don't need to move it on. I only buy budget gear, so there is not much money tied up in it. I am reaching the maximum amount of space now, so If I did get a new bass or acoustic guitar I'd probably dispose of the old one.

When I was in the last year at school I dreamt that the school let me play my rendition of JJ Burnels Bass heavy solo single “Freddy Laker” at the school fete. I could not play bass at the time but in my dream it sounded great and loads of girls we’re impressed and wanted to snog me.

Great example of a reggae-based track from a non reggae artist. Well OK she did have establised reggae musicians as collaborators! She has fantastic style/persona too!

I don't think 'played' music is going through any kind of mass extinction. But it is learning to co-exist alongside whatever the opposite is - 'programmed' maybe. That is not recent, been going on for a few years. Not sure what you mean by new Beatles.... if you mean 'pop' then a lot of that will be programmed. If you mean the Beatles with their more experimental hat then both played and programmed will apply.

Didn't realise that! However (and I'm not a massive fan of Stone Roses - they are OK) Ian Brown did turn out to be a good frontman and Mani a great bass player, so the shift around worked well for them!

Q: Why does the guitarist only use analogue delay pedals? A: They have (kicked the) bucket brigade devices!

Didn’t know that. However he did play a bass player in a comedy TV show. He was bassist and leader of a band and tricked the rest of the band into thinking that they had had a hit when he had actually rigged the sales figures. He wrote the song and only years later revealed to the singer that the lyrics were about having a Joderal Bank!

I know what you mean... I often say to colleagues "I'm packing up early today" when I actually mean that I'm simply finishing on time!
